Akrapovic N55 Cat-Back Exhaust

Can anyone comment on how they like the Akrapovic sound for the M2 (specifically the cat-back variant)?

Side note, what comes in the box? I just want to make sure I have all the parts, but I’d imagine it’s the following:
-Midpipe
-“Resonating” pipes
-Muffler
-Valve system
-Wiring for valves
-4x tips (idk how big these are)

Here’s a few vids. It’s actually pretty quiet in Comfort mode and then gets loud when the valves open in Sport/Sport+. I have a 300-cell HJS downpipe.

What are the odds this pricing from Speedzone Performance isn’t too good to be true?

This sounds great! Thanks for sharing some vids on this!

I currently have an AFE, which I like the sound of a lot, but I’m looking to track the car more and am starting to also consider weight and performance more. Luckily, the Akra seems to check off all the boxes in my case since it’s lighter, has some minor performance gains, but still sounds exotic (so much so that it sounds like a blend of the N55 and S55 - probably because of the titanium).

ZM2 When you unboxed yours, I’m guessing it was just 2 parts for the exhaust (the midpipes and then the muffler section)? The other items in the box were the tips and the valve wiring?

I got mine used from a buddy and gave him my stock exhaust, so it was a simple transplant job with everything already together.

ZM2 also, do you happen to know how big the Akra tips are? I know they are regular stainless tips that are covered by a matte carbon outer, wondering if you could measure the total diameter for the carbon outer?

I don’t. I’ve been running stock with bolt ons, so won’t be able to help much with tunes.

Garage List
  [0.00]
2018 BMW M2  [10.00]
I’ve been running mine for like 4 years now and I love it. I have it paired to a catless downpipe.

I first had the m performance systems and I loved the sound when beating on it but it droned like crazy at highway speeds, no matter if the valves were open or closed.

So I started looking for alternatives and found this system. Happened to find a used one for like half price so I jumped on it. I had a valve issue early on where it was stuck so Akra was awesome and they replaced my whole rear section but no issues since then.

With valves closed cruising on the highway it’s basically silent but when you get on it and valves open it sounds brutal but also much more refined than the m performance.

Also, keep in mind this is a titanium system so it’s crazy how much lighter it is than stock. Easily liftable with one hand.

Here’s a clip but if you check out my YouTube channel you can hear how it sounds at plenty of track days.

As far as parts in the box I think your list is accurate. But again I didn’t get it new so I’m not 100% sure.

If budget is not a concern, Akrapovic is always an excellent option.

They separate their part numbers, so what comes in the box depends on which part number you got.

If you have not yet placed your order, let me know and i'll ensure you get the full kit
