I can’t seem to find it in their inventory. Can anyone locate it? Idiotic markup aside, I’m local and really want to see HS in person.

Did your class study 'common core' math?

11% HP increase, and 18% torque increase. Anyways (sic) some of us look at those numbers, it's significant.

Smart move.

The M2C might grow on me but as a biased current M2 owner I think the original car is cleaner looking.

Get a used M2 now and you can always get a M2C in a year when prices get back to normal.

Brilliant example. Exactly right.

Braman.. says it all..

For my previous M2 they wanted 5k to get on their list and it would be marked up 5k...

But I did hear they sold the first 2016 M2 they ever got for almost 90k.. not sure how true this is..

It was said to have a bunch of M Performance parts which pushed its MSRP to the mid 60's and had then a 20k markup on it bringing it close to 90k

I’d just like to put aside some false statements in here. Braman is a fantastic dealership. This is where I purchased my M2C and it just arrived today and I’ll be picking it up tomorrow morning. Granted, I have been a customer for years. They always take care of me and I have never paid more than MSRP for a car. I was number one on the list. Also, this is Braman palm beach. That picture was Braman Miami. Different car. This one has a sunroof, that one doesn’t have a sunroof. They sold the car for over sticker, I’m just not sure of how much. They get people to pay what they ask, trust me lol.

It's probably the good stuff considering all the money they make.

Amazing how people will pay such a mark up just because they want it asap. It's like they are OK with everyone thinking they are stupid.

"I just bought an M2C with a $20K mark-up!"

"That's a GREAT deal!" said no one.

I see your point. However, cars are some of the worst depreciating assets we buyers go through in our lives. Your dealer can handle that one big loss on the Volvo S90 and still thrive as a business as they sell fleets of cars.

Once a car is sold and driven off the lot, the dealer is just happy to move on to the next sale...

I'm not a fan of electric cars (yet), but Tesla's push in killing the conventional dealership model is a good thing.

BTW, when I had bought my GT4, I just walked into the Porsche dealer, asked them how long was the wait list and put my name on it (just two ahead of me). Ordered it and purchased for MSRP... Not a dime more and they never even asked. This was at a dealer in the MD/VA/Washington DC area, highest family income area in the country, so you know there is a demand for pricey cars. So it can be done, but buyers who just throw their money for the quick fix, make it worse for people like us who are looking for a respectable deal, and are performance car enthusiasts. Dealers will continue to feed off that, and that is one less dealer many of us can't or won't go to.

I love what BMW has done with the M2C (could be a little lighter ), but at $80K you are entering some serious territory for sports cars: Cayman S/GTS, GT350R ( with ADM..lol), M3/M4, C63S, RS5, Corvette Z06, etc.

LOL Don't give me too much credit. It's easy to talk big on the Internet!

I had my disclaimer of "...but I'm not sure I'd take my own advice tho" and backed it out. Notice I'm waiting for my probably late November delivery

I think you're right in that something about markups just intuitively feels wrong. I mean, I see that "market adjustment" line and it makes my blood boil.

But as much as it pisses me off, I don't think me being upset is going to repeal the laws of economics. BMW created an MSRP. But that price is a fake price. The only real price is whatever price results when supply and demand curves intersect. And, right now, it's clearly the case that demand is so high that wait times are crazy due to the fact that the MSRP is artificially low.

If we all paid the real market price, there would be no wait. Prices would rise to where supply and demand are in equilibrium.

Makes me think of this dude at work who went to see Guns & Roses in concert recently. MSRP on tickets was $250. To actually attend the concert, he paid $2,500!

Dude, I'm as big a fan of Appetite for Destruction as any 80's kid, but dude! $2,500???

It's just a negotiating tactic

First off, some goofs actually will pay it. I've seen it happen at local dealer in the past, with more of a markup than that ($50K for i8 when it came out). And if someone shows interest, the dealer can cut them an AMAZING deal by slashing $20K off the price. Bringing it to MSRP ...

The new USA and gov't. People don't realize they have an option of not buying it and that its 100% completely fair to not buy it. Too many feelings get hurt when they can't screw someone else.

Haha! Seeing Axl trying to shake it like he used to... Yeah, he is as super fan!

I get ya. I don't have a problem with the obligatory $5000 markup, but $20K got me riled up!

And I agree. We are but a tiny ant in this auto dealership spider web. No matter how much we scream and wave our fists, the bad news inevitably comes.
