[QUOTE=AlpsRider;25807921]I've just read in other threads that it's not necessary to open up the DME anymore as was the case in the past. I have no first hand info.[/QUO

You're probably talking about via OBD port which is what's no capable with the current DME software. Please don't spread misinformation lol

No I'm talking about not breaking open the box just like I wrote. I know how OBD works. Maybe it's not right, but I swear I read that it can be done with the DME contacts. When I get back home I'll have a look.

This is a quote from BM3 support, just to clear up misinformation.

"Thank you for reaching out to us, as well for your interest in bootmod3.

Once you remove the DME, the bench unlock is preformed by connecting the pins to the unlock tool. There is no need to open the DME. It will remain sealed."

Yup that's the way you bench flash. Nothing new here you still have to pull out your DME

And no I don't want to ship my DME off anywhere and looking for a shop in Cali that is capable of flashing it themselves. Are you guys aware of any shops who can flash BM3 themselves without shipping off my DME??

**Preferably in the bay area**
I know you want the BM3 but did you check Carbahn in San Jose for their flash option? Steve Dinan owns it.
