Best exhaust for price?

What, in your opinion, is the cheapest exhaust you can buy for the M2 that still sounds good?

Agreed. Your question is perhaps misleading. What's the best exhaust.... given that all the aftermarket exhausts, including the MPE, provide zero improvement to performance the answer has to be the one that comes with the car.

As for the best sounding, that's personal taste. I for one would not waste my money on anything that does not improve performance. You'd be better saving your 2k+ and spending it on driver training & track time; the driver is almost always the weakest link.

With all that said I'd buy the akrapovic

Honestly, I just went catless and have zero desire to get a full exhaust now. Pops, bangs, and cracks galore. Happy with it and I'm not just saying that to save $$$ lol

Tip change, red delete, and a sport downpipe might be the cheapest and most efficient way to go... Unless you wanna go catless

This is exactly the right move. No desire what so ever, I will take a $300 catless mod over a MPE or any catback alone.

I love the symphony of my Remus cat back much more than the stock exhaust. That it sounds good though.

Same as above, cat-less downpipe with dinan resonator delete sounds perfect, no need to even change the stock piece just bigger tips will make it perfect

So the moral of the story is... Most people are happy with the stock exhaust.

For me there is nothing at all wrong with the stock exhaust, in sport mode it sounds great. I don't subscribe to the idea that louder is better.

Cheapest upgrade that sounds good is downpipe ... If you want more sound you need a complete exhaust and these are not cheap

REMUS and Active make really good exhaust systems for this car

Er... could you explain what a Fabspeed full exhaust suite is ? I know they do a sports cat and a muffler-less pipe. Is there something else too ?

Very happy with my FI cat-back. Loud & mean with valves open, and 100% stock sounding with valves closed. I will probably look to add a DP at some point as well.

I've just exited a very loud E92 with the OEM exhaust mod and I'm very happy with the stock M2 pipes.

Resonator bypass by Dinan is probably the best bang for buck in term of sound.
