[QUOTE=dmboone25;23551994]So the extra hp and weight will improve skidpad? You're silly to assume that extra horsepower will make everything better. You sound like an auto executive who assumes that horsepower trumps all. Please enlighten me as to how horsepower helps braking and my other "opinion" catagories. I do not think the word "facts" means what you think it means

Actually the MY16 and MY17 Xenon headlights look much better than the LCI M2 and the M2C LED lights because the Xenon headlights have the LED eyebrow strip above the headlights, which looks fantastic.BMW really blew it not including them on the new M2 LED headlights.

Glad to see someone else keeping their OG M2. I felt like I was the only one!
Seems like many are jumping ship for the new one. Wonder if they'll just do it over again when the S58 version makes an appearance since it will be superior lol Everyone's after the tuning for "BIG POWER"! We have European cars not monster dragstrip Dodge Demon type cars. |

Just daily driving my M2 17' has not given me anything but smiles and happiness. It's a car I honestly enjoy and proud of driving daily. A car a lot of peeps expresses their adoration towards. I have never owned such a car with this much appeal. Just the overall exterior style the M2 wins vs the M2C for me.
For these solid reasons alone I am keeping my M2 17', I do not have to sway myself to see an M2C because as what I read so far its just not it. I will hope that the next M3/M4 will get back to the M spirit of balance and just not give it more brute force, then they will have my attention again and maybe my next M. Thanks OP for showing as the side by side pix, except for being the "new" thing the rear overhang, wheels, and huge kidney grill design just don't look right. fail on the M2C in my eyes. |

To me the new front end looks more aggressive but each to their own I guess
Wheels will be changed by most anyway and so will the exhaust |

I 100% understand the OP, the cars look 98% the same even to car enthusiasts.
I only switched to M2C for just 1 thing, S55. My engine is stock, not tuned: I was at Assen Moto GP track 1.5 years ago and had the car jumping into Limp mode. Hard driving. Dealer can't do nothing. A week ago I was driving to Düsseldorf Germany on the Autobahn doing 120-150 mph and it went into limp mode again..... Restart engine : everything fine. Thoug I love the N55 engine sound(I have the MPE) it's not particularly fast /powerful, it doesn't want to rev like S55 does. Etcetera etcetera So with no warranty left I opted for the S55. Dealer agreed. I don't want to tune my N55 though I know with downpipe/IC flash whatever it becomes another car.... But I get F87Luv's point. The cars look the same more or less. I went for another colour, HS, though I 'm in love with LBB which I have now. Reading this thread I see some posters acting like the fox in this tale))) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fox_and_the_Grapes Cheers Robin |

I'm not a track rat so I probably can't get it to go into limp mode, but I bet a good driver at a place like COTA can. No need to be overly sensitive, it's not a knock. I might be in the market for a used M2 . I own neither and drove both (M2 & M4 ZCP) back-to-back also think the S55 seems more happy in the upper reaches of the rev range than N55. I've read the early journos reports and the thing that strikes me is (understanding that these people should know cars and how they feel pretty well) they drive a car a couple of times a few years ago, then jump in this new version and eulogise about how great it is and how the on-limit handling is now night and day better but can you really make that assessment without driving them back to back or without having owned a base M2 for a while and then driving an M2 Comp? Sure they'll be differences and I am convinced the engine will be better but is it all enough to make an appreciable difference? |

Original poster: was that you I encountered in NJ yesterday on the freeway? The M2 I drove alongside for a while looked just like yours and I think also had Pennsylvania plates? I was in the Orange 1M with my wife and toddler.

I love my LBB N55 M2, don't get me wrong. The looks(wheels, stance, colour, sound) I just want a more powerful , more racy, more //M and more reliable engine. Cheers Robin |

This makes sense to me to go for the switch. Last thing I'd want is an issue at speed at the track. There have been multiple reports on this with the n55 M2. It's like it starves itself of fuel when things speed up/ heat up. |
