Safety when jacking car

Hi guys,

I want to start changing pads and flushing my brakes at home, problem is my carport is on a slight slant. Is it a no-go to put the car on jack stands unless it's completely flat? Because that would be a bummer

I wish I could tell you the exact angle/degree of the slant, but I'm not sure. It's the backyard carport and just runs with the land - i.e. slightly higher at the front wheels, lower at the back, as the land runs down the back alley.

Cheers

dcmac just wear a high Vis vest and you will be fine.

Joking aside hard to gauge without seeing the slope however you will find it easier if the slope is front to back vs side to side. The key is to have good flat ground under the jack and the stands. If you are truely concerned you can just do one corner at a time instead of lifting the whole front or rear.

Jacking one side at a time? If so use wheel chucks behind the wheels on the opposite side or a 2x4.
