Interesting how the M235 has a coefficient of drag at 0.33 and the M2 is *less* slippery at 0.35
Apparently all the M aero guys were where ? Perhaps it's a good thing they didn't get a chance to add " M mirrors " and slow it down some more, to the tune of 1M Cd of 0.37..... |

Excited to see what this Engine will do at the Dyno WHP/WTQ and how much different it is from a M235 other than the hardware they mention.
Hoping for great tuning 450whp easy 500wtq without upgrading anything =D

My guess for "stage 1" tuning would be somewhere between the M235i and M4, or about 400-420whp w/ 93oct.

A blow-off valve without diaphragm from the N20 engine is used in the N55B30T0 engine
Interesting.. ! I wasn't able to find any info on what turbo is used...but looking at the dyno charts provided it looks like the changes to the head and pistons and oiling allowed them to get more rpms at the top end in order to build more power so there is a useable 7k available ... . This is great reading but I can't help but think there are a few " bloopers " with the info.It does make me wonder whether this can be relied upon, some that I've made a mental note of:
1/ wheels in the tyre section are quoted as being cast. 2/ 0-60 has shot up from a quoted 4.1 sec (for Auto) to 4.4 sec. 3/ No mention of engine having a closed deck design 4/ Already been noticed, but 8000rpm display ? Last edited by Nine Lives; 02-09-2016 at 05:26 AM.. Reason: Addition |

So now, it appears the single turbos are branded "twinscroll" (accurate) and the true twins "twinpower". Perhaps in view of that lawsuit/public feedback regarding people confusing "twinpower" for twin turbos...

That's right and considering it's a technical document then it should have been updated straight away, same goes for the other pointers mentioned, unless this is a beta version of course.

Basing it on the published BHP for M235i, M2, and M4. And the JB4 results from M235i and M4. The published BHP for M2 is right between the two. Common sense says the turbo cfm (and fueling) should scale to target hp.

RPM clusters
As already pointed out, the technical training shows by mistake two different rpm clusters:
Below: base M2 instrument cluster as seen during recent car shows (check also the fuel level meter: more subdivisions + fuel consumption meter indicates up to 30 l/100 km): Daylight (white backlight): Dusk till dawn ("orange night-time illumination"):
