Updated renderings as of 11/25/14:

Based on input from Scott26, we've given our BMW M2 some even more accurate touches - including more angular front styling and hips (fenders).

Earlier post:

Presenting our F87 M2 preview rendering. After seeing many renderings which were simply an M235i with M4 style front bumper, we took a shot at providing a more accurate preview based on our latest M2 spy photos.

We spent the most effort on digitally uncovering the parts which are clearly confirmed by the prototype - the unique lower bumper and air intake design featuring twin fangs / fins and the wide front and rear fenders.

As the most recently spotted M2 is not yet a late-stage prototype, there may be other parts which have not yet been fitted (some of which may never be fitted) to the M2, for which we had to use some imagination. We gave this M2 production sideskirts, double-slat M style kidney grilles, M gills, vented hood, M3/M4 style mirrors, carbon fiber roof, M Carbon Ceramic Brakes and L-shaped "halo lights" in the new style spied recently on the G11 7 Series prototype. Some of these we'll see for certain on the production M2 - such as the double slat kidney grilles and sideskirts, but the other parts have not yet been confirmed (nor disproved) by the prototype spy photos.

Finally, just for fun, we added a front spoiler lip and high trunk wing for a track-spec model look.

Speculation has picked up in recent weeks on the M2, and we still stand by our trusty future model lineup info which indicates that the M2 will be powered by a new updated N55 engine (N55B30T0) good for approximately 370-380 PS (365-375 HP). The prototypes have been tested with both manual and auto (DCT) transmissions.

Our current information (subject to change) indicates a Frankfurt 2015 (September) auto show debut for the M2 Concept, followed by M2 production beginning in November 2015 for the EU/UK and in March 2016 for the US market.

Woa nice job!! Looks much more accurate than the other renders.

Especially like how unique that front bumper looks from the other M models because of those fangs. Can't wait to see the concept next year. Thanks for the preview and info!

Agreed. Tho jason said they put it on for fun so it's not something that will be on the production car or anything.

Love how it looks otherwise! Can someone please get BMW to move up the schedule on the M2?

Finally a render which actually takes note of all the clues we have been given.

Excellent work by Wildspeed (as ever). Looks great.

As always I enjoy seeing the rendering and development of the M2. This one does not disappoint! Minus the wing that was added for fun, the render looks spectacular.

I'm not convinced that BMW will give it all the M3/M4 styling cues and do the full weight reduction program. Especially not the CF roof. But I'd expect it to get the M3/M4 suspension, brakes, M Diff, and most of the actual go-fast parts.

I think BMW will probably want to keep the M3/M4 at the top of the BMW performance hill. (And I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that past, current, and future M3/M4 owners will want the M3/M4 to stay on top of the BMW performance hill.)

Which means that the M2 should be slower than the M3/M4. Easy to do. Keep the weight at or near that of the M3/M4 and keep the power between M235i and M3/M4 levels. That way M2 buyers can have the fastest 2 series ever made, for a lower price than the M3/M4. And it wouldn't threaten the M3/M4 in terms of performance, prestige, sales cannibalization, or any of that.

Just my $0.02.

Which is why I said we used our imagination and that some (or none) of the imagined parts may make the production M2, and would likely be unique from the M3/M4 if they did make the car.

The only parts actual confirmed by the spy pics are the front bumper and wide fenders.
