Upgrading tweeters only
Hi
I have Harmon Kardon system in my M2C. Sound system at volume, tweeters are too bright. There is more that is wrong than this, but to me this is the worst of it. Looking at Bavsound, or lower cost alternative maybe just replace tweeters in door sails. Lets say I bought Morell soft dome tweeters, anyone know the specification I should purchase? I'll get professionally installed. Cheers |

Here's another one that I looked at before doing my mods:

I was really let down the quality of the sound system overall in the M2. I know that's not the point of the car, but still. For $60,000 it could sound A LOT better. My fiance's 2019 Mazda 3 has an outstanding sound system, and it was less than half the cost. I would love to make the interior experience better, but I have 0 experience with speakers. Would love to hear what others have to say.

Read my thread.
Lease expensive fix is just the front speaker replacement. The ETON's are plug and play. Sounds awesome. I added the center one as well, but others have disconnected/taken the center one out. Next step up is to replace the rears as well Another well reviewed option is to replace the amp with the Match 7 Plug and play one. You can go overboard adding a trunk sub, replace the underseat subs, etc. For now just the speaker really made a huge difference for me...

Just an update, I unplugged the center speaker and it literally transformed the entire system. It sounds SO much better. 110% recommend, especially because it is free.

I disconnected mine, but honestly I do not remember how it sounded prior to disconnecting the center channel.
I drive my car maybe once every week or two.. I switched out the rears with JL coax’s and added a cheap powered sub in the trunk. Although the staging/imaging is poor, I’m okay with the overall sound quality. For some reason, I don’t find the current setup too bright or harsh in any way. It’s rather warm/subdued for my taste, so I had to crank up the treble to max-1. |

I also noticed that in the harman equipment, replace all the speakers, front 100k2 focal, central Eton, and rear coaxial morel. The sound is much better ... Maybe a little less volume but it sounds equally strong and with more quality.
