Can confirm, my clutch pedal was definitely plastic.

E36 (all variants, including Z3/M Coupe), E46 and E82 all had plastic clutches (models I changed the pedal covers on).

Looks like all current manual transmission models (including OG M2 and M2C) use the same plastic clutch pedal: 35-31-6-761-310

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...y/35316761310/

I thought the factory plastic pedal was one of the big selling points of the Ultimate Clutch Pedal.

One thing I will concede is that there is something of an optical illusion caused by the way the rubber and stainless lines are angled down and outwards.

Just out of curiosity, I just went and checked in my car ('17) and like my e92 before it, the brake is metal and the clutch is a very hard plastic of some kind. It almost feels like metal coated in plastic, but seeing as how the brake pedal isn't coated I think it's safe to assume it's just plastic. Scratching them with my finger and touching both to feel a temperature difference also supports the two different materials theory.

Examining the pedals and screws further made me think there may be a small margin of error associated with how they align in people's cars but it also depends on how you look at it /what angle the photo is taken from. Some photos or angles look better/worse than others.

Nezil also has a UCP now so his clutch pedal is in a slightly different position and angle than OEM so his install may look cleaner for that reason alone.

At the end of the day it really doesn't bother me that they appear to be a little off, for whatever reason. I know most of us on here have OCD but I'm not going to let something that small keep me up at night.

I remember drilling the pedals on my e46 m3 to install similar pedals. It drove me crazy trying to make it perfect, and made me wish BMW had them pre drilled...weirdly it makes me appreciate the stock/plastic pedals more now.

I purchased the Pedal Haus pedals for my vehicle and it brings a template to make sure you drill the pedals in the right place. The screws come with nuts on to tighten the aftermarket pedals onto the pedal. I personally believe that the pedals are aligned on how they are drilled in based on the alignment tool provided with the kit. I have yet to install only because of laziness.

Well, I guess I can't argue with the majority, I stand corrected and must be losing my mind because I remember the pedal(s) being metal..

Sorry Nezil for doubting you..

LoL..

My whole thing is getting it right, not being right..

I don't even care to argue with people I know, let alone strangers on the internet..

But no one is infallible, so if you could back up your claim with some bonafide proof, I'm willing to change my outlook.

When I put my covers on, I recorded the whole process with my phone. I had a hard time finding a good tutorial online so wanted to post one. Checking my video, the clutch in my 2020 M2C is plastic, the brake is metal.

The community is what makes a forum like this valuable. Those that contribute regularly like Poochie and andrewc89 deserve gratitude and respect.

We may not always agree, but it shouldn't 't get ugly.

I'll second your cheers to civility larry.beck!

If anyone needs a clutch pedal, you can have mine. There's no way to order it without the clutch pedal if you have DCT. You pick up the shipping.
Can I have it? lol

I had another guy PM me about it just after Christmas but haven't heard back. I just sent him a reminder (holiday season can get nutty for sure) and let him know it's his if I hear back within 2 days. If day 3 comes with no reply, it's yours. I'll PM you then for your address and we can see how much shipping will be. I think it'll be way cheap since it's small\light and you're close.

Has any of these pedals come loose or fallen off? I assume some locktite thread lock is to be used for the nut and bolt pedals?

I had them on my 1-series (and they came stock on the 335is and 135is). I really prefer them over the M Performance pedals, not to mention the brake and clutch are covers that replace the rubber pads (so no drilling) and the gas pedal replaces the whole assembly. Easy to flip back to stock (which I did when my car was totaled).
Those look better that the M Pedals on mine, I have to say...

Contrary to some posts here it is possible to get them lined up better. The metal cover is irrelevant, it's about where you drill the holes and those are marked with the rubber part.

The rubber part is flexible so it is possible to rotate it on the pedal by quite a bit (3 degrees at least).

So this can be fixed. Order an UCP or buy OEM clutch pedal (hey, I could probably sell you mine) and drill the holes better than the tech who installed them originally.

I'll post my pic when I get to it.

I would much rather have these.

Had a set on my E90 and really liked them. If I remember, they were a little on the difficult side to install. I think it was fitting the stainless pedal over the rubber and brake pedal. Mine was an automatic.

I don't see any reason why not as long as the accelerator pedal mounting point and plug are the same.

Brake pedal is def metal, a metal punch and good HSS/Titanium bit is your friend.

I think both the accelerator and/or clutch were butter/plastic

It's a bit of a pain to install the brake pedal top nut. I ended up drilling the two bottom holes on the clutch (plastic) and the brake (metal) so as to line the pedals up level using holes just large enough for the screws. Then drill the top ones last after the lower ones were installed. Then remove the pedals to make a larger hole in the upper brake metal pedal. I ended up losing one of the nuts while putting the top screw in the brake cover. There's a hole just below when the nut goes on where the pedal attaches to the arm. There is another hole at the bottom but it's not big enough to allow the nut to fall back out so it's in there forever. I had to go buy another metric nut and covered the hole with tape so it did not fall in again.
I also installed the Burger Motorsport clutch pedal stop and that's the best most inexpensive mod you can do for the M2. I can't believe how much better the clutch stop feels compared to stock.
