M3CS was like 95% leased.
If I remember correctly leasing wasn't an option initially on the CS cars. It only became an option when people weren't paying BMWs ridiculous prices and they wanted/needed to move the cars.

It does look great there, but I feel like that’s not a true representation of MB - it looks darker in this picture compared to the times I’ve seen it.

I don't doubt the authenticity of the picture, but that's not how Misano Blue looks in real life to the naked eye.

I wasn't originally digging the "Smurf Blue" on the M2 CS but the color has really grew on me since then.

It sure does give vehicle a distinctive appearance, sort of like what Valencia Orange did for the 1M and Frozen Dark Gray Metallic for the M4 GTS.

So I'm going to reserve judgement on this signature color until I see one in person..

That's news to me. Straight from launch, I'm pretty sure there was leasing options/program - at least in Canada. Would be very unusual for BMW to have a program for a car (limited or not) in one country and not in the other. :

Hiding the rear muffler like that, isnt that a market scheme?

Or did they actully paint it black.
It's an abomination.

BMW might've wised up and blacked it out.

Not sure if that is the same exhaust as the M2C or a completely different exhaust.

So... being someone from the era where you would get a Smurf each time you filled up at the BP petrol station I can assure you that Smurf blue is much much closer to LBB. There's a slight teal tinge to Smurfs. Now, I am not being Smurfist or anything but that's how Smurfs are.

I rather like the bright blue on the CS. Silver all the way for me though.

Agreed!

Although, it somehow looks better on the M2cs?

I think it looks best in direct sun light.....in the shade it is dull and boring.

Miracles of Instagram filters
The point is that the M4cs was offered in exclusive colors such as San Marino blue and Lime rock Grey, specific for this model, the M2cs is available in the X2 color. Mystery.

I think they do this kind of thing on purpose - sure the 1M, M2, M2C and M2CS are various iterations of the “entry” level M car, but they don’t really want you to buy it.

What they really want you to do is have a hard time finding one, or getting annoyed at the lack of color choices, or the lack of options (such as DCT in the 1M, M buttons and mirrors in the OG M2, lack of adaptive suspension in the M2C, lack of availability with the M2CS, etc.) and step right on up to the M3/4. For which they have a much bigger profit margin and which matter much more to the overall success of the company.

But maybe I’m just jaded.

Looks good though!

Also fromt he config, have they repented and finally decided to paint the cow udder BLACK?????
Nope that is a lie. Its like that on other configuraters I think and the udders remain silver/metallic. If its resolved then wonderful.

Colour isn't factory related either, M2 Leipzig is it and X2 Regensberg, finally Z4 in Austria at Steyer?

M2 Product team literally constricted on not having 'too nice' a paint. With the stitching/interior and brakes being Red it's even more bizarre the IMHO non complimentary MB is the chosen launch colour.

Is it just fun to do or does everyone think they're really getting one with only around 250 coming to the USA??

Where did you read that only 250 units are coming to the US? I anticipate much more than that. Originally, articles mentioned 500, but it was quickly taken down. However, over the past few weeks, units in other countries were confirmed, but reports suggests that other countries had smaller allocations than previously anticipated. This was because BMW was shifting allocations to other countries, which I believe is the US.

Nonetheless, I bet there will be much more than 250 as US is such a large market for CS vehicles.
