Hey guys,

So I a struggled for months trying to find a mid-range/entry level suspension setup in my budget and with the adjustability I wanted. KW V3's are amazing but more than I wanted to pay and offer some adjustability i would never use. And the few other options I looked at were H&R coilovers and KW HAS.

H&R are apparently a great setup but don't offer any dampening adjustment and that kind of turned me off.

KW HAS seems like a solid way to go but I had heard many stories of them feeling a little bouncy over time.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the BC BR series and I must say. I'm very impressed with what you get for what you pay. If you only plan on doing some spirited street driving/autocross. This suspension is perfect. The install was very simple( I had a hoist ) and the ability to adjust the dampening made these ride better than stock. My car is still sitting a little too low in the front. But aside from that I'm very happy with this product for an "entry level" Coilover.

I'll attach some pics for motivation if you plan on lowering your f87,

Cheers!

Thanks for your opinion, I would also like this suspension, I do not run on the circuit, just some mountain road and some 1/4 mile pulls but I want the lowest car. I had this suspension in my previous 135i and it worked very well for years. Can you put pictures? Thank you!

Wow this looks amazing (love the photography as well). The BC coils are very popular in the japanese car community so I'm happy someone decided to try them out for the m2, I have a set of KW HAS that I haven't mounted yet but if I absolutely hate them I'll probably switch to these. How does the ride compare to stock?

Also, do you rub at all with 12mm spacers all around? I've noticed people often do 12 in the front and 10 in the rear

Yeah they offer a pretty good product for the price. The ride is similar to stock in a straight line but feels tighter and planted in the corners.
As for rubbing. It rubs slightly in the front where the fender meets the front bumper. But I'm a little lower than I should be. If I went a little higher in the front it wouldn't rub at all.

I’ve been running my BCs for about 3 years now. I was the first US M2 to run them actually and till this day I have 0 complaints about them.

I don't know the exact drop compared to stock. But I think around 1.6" in the front and 1.3ish in the rear.

OP any updates on your thoughts on these? Did you get the extenders? The available Swift springs?

Still loving them, and I did not get the extenders. They are kind of useless on the m2 because of the way the top mount in the rear works. It's easier to just make adjustments by jacking up the car. And I did not go with swift springs. These are great. I assume swift are even better.

Amazing photos. My car is lowered on Ohlins, has 10mm spacers, yet doesn't look anywhere as good and I wish I knew why
Maybe it's all in my head

Nice photos!
How much drop was yours set at?
I’m trying to achieve maybe 3/4 - 1” drop from stock height.
Do you think this is possible with the setting at Max. height?
Thanks!

I've adjusted the height multiple times to get it to where it is. I'm not too sure how much of a drop im at in comparison to stock. But if I wanted to raise it close to stock I would have enough threads to do so

Here to revive the post. OP, thank you for posting your pics. I am on the same boat debating the KW HAS or the BC BR series. I've ran BC BR series on all my other builds and after reading through here, I'll be pulling the trigger with BC again. Thanks again for posting!
