With MHD flashing method does it increment the flash counter? Meaning you would be limited to 60 flashes before the ECU won't allow it anymore?

How can you become an MHD tuner?

We'll work on freezing the counter.
If you are a professional tuner just email us. Or did I misunderstood?

Not looking for a job, just curious if I can upload my own files with MHD. Would be nifty to be able to flash via mobile rather than have to pull out the laptop, and if someone is interested in me tuning their car for them, this might be a viable option for distribution. Still email?

I've applied for the MHD Beta on my M2, and also the X3. hoping I get accepted.

With that said, will XDF files be provided for the M2 like it was on E series N55/N54?

Are you working with TuningTechFs? I've been in contact with them for the last couple months. They are close to releasing a HPFP upgrade for the N55.

Is it the s55 dual pump solution?

Yes, that's what they did for an M2 a couple months ago.

Yes you can edit and flash your own file. Most self tuners set up a dropbox or google drive folder so they can edit their maps with tuner pro on PC, and files are updated on their mobile device for easy flashing with MHD.

Yes tables definitions will get released when the beta goes open.

I knew TTFS did a one shot s55 dual pump retrofit, I did not know they were preparing a kit. Now that makes 3 upgrades in the making

Testing status

We have received for the closed beta way more inquiries than expected (300+). We are processing them as fast as we can (during our holidays) so we can start OTS maps testing as planned early January.

The full OBD (no DME unlock needed) method has been working flawlessly on the two dozens cars so far that received the initial MHD install flash, be it for a custom map or the stage 0 map (OEM calibration) while waiting for the OTS maps.

Would an upgraded HPFP be beneficial for a stock turbo car, or really only for upgraded turbo and/or ethanol setups?

In out testing, the hpfp is more limiting than the stock turbo (especially if you tune with a safe AFR, more on the rich than lean side) from 15psi with 12.3 AFR. Even on pump gas, not for ethanol mix, so it's going to be even more critical for e85.

Read somewhere that OE S55 dual HPFP's had been successfully grafted onto N55 to give a stealthy, robust OE solution alternative to PI and TBI ....anyone got any more details ??

Yes, that was TuningTech. They are actively working on a package to sell to the public as a DIY kit. You will have to run some sort of tune to make it work. They expect to have something available in several more weeks.

Yes, custom fueling table is required to activate the secondary pump. Currently this is possible on BM3. I'm sure once XDF's are released and someone tuning on MHD gets their hands on the kit it'll trickle down.

It's funny that just a few days after I was looking into this TTFS releases info

MHD, will the tune have the ability to adjust or get rid of throttle delay (particularly in comfort and sport modes)? Thank you

If the delay is caused by physical limitations (turbo spool up etc) i doubt it will be possible

Yes, throttle maps should be mappable on MHD. I'm sure the guys will create a flashtime option for throttle maps once out of beta like on the N54 flasher.

I think the turbo lag is minimal in the M2, esp after my sport cat install. Its the throttle lag that makes it seem much worse. I am perfectly happy with the response in sport+ mode but Id preferred not to have to switch to it every time I start the car

That saves me from considering the Sprint Booster

We'd be the first to enjoy more fueling!

You don't absolutely need BM3 nor the xdf to edit the tables. There are there. I don't know bm3 much though, can you add tables / edit raw hex?

Do you mean lag, or pedal position to torque request mapping?

Definitely the former, which is what something like the Sprint Booster addresses. Sport+ and Sport (to lesser extent) modes also reduce such throttle lag. The latter is just fine at least to me.

It's all load based tuning. There should be some neat things soon from MHD coming for the M2
