Yo - you are barking up the wrong tree. I said it "feels" like more boost. Bark at the guy that claims there is. I'm not selling anything. This guy says there is: Originally Posted by marcusfva View Post It was 0.9x bar (~13psi) and now 1.2x bar (~18psi) in the same conditions.

Dear guys, I don't want to persuade anyone. I've just reported my experience with the new firmware on my car and I've never spoken about an amount of power gain.
I've just noted that the car is faster than before, and the turbo peak is reaching values that I've never seen before this upgrade. My car made on a dyno 386HP crank and 542Nm with 100RON-95AKI standard pump fuel, HJS 300 dp, Remus exhaust and FMIC Wagner Evo Comp II (that last piece made the car loose ~1 psi of turbo peak against the stock IC). Of course with stock ECU. Maybe in the future I will do again a dyno run to check. |

Can confirm, you guys are getting fooled by placebo effect.
Just updated at the dealer due to an unrelated issue and this hasn't done anything of note to my 2017 M2. iDrive and CarPlay do seem to behave a little better, but other than that? No change in driving characteristics. |

I drive the car quite hard and datalog, and I can confirm that there are subtle differences. Quote:
Haha, yeah the roar happens it seems when the car is warm but not fully warm. It does it on very specific conditions. It's quite loud with the MPE flaps open lol. I've noticed the steering changes, you can try coding F87CS ( CS edition EPS? ) for some additional changes. I personally haven't noticed the comfort throttle but it felt more refined in general.

This whole GTS Roar thing is absolute rubbish, because i have a February 2017 build so thats the last few of the Pre LCI with NBTevo_J16383I and after cold start you drive for a little bit don't let it get right up to operating temp switch it off ( like when i ran into the shop so i didn't do this intentionally ) then start it up the revs fly up and you get a roar the ironie is it happened when i really hoped it wouldn't because its happened before it was really early in the morning and people were pissed lol, this has absolutely nothing to do with the update. it just happens every so often its not something you can really control you just have to get lucky as original OP stated, my point is it has nothing to do with the update

2017 6MT with MPE. Literally no difference compared to what was installed previously. You guys are crazy.

What I am experiencing could be normal for you guys - you had newer firmware to start.

We need data.. until someone posts before and after logs showing the increase of boost or shows dyno charts it?s all inconclusive. I have plenty of before logs since I monitor a lot of parameters since I began modding the car. But my car is not stock so it would be better to see on a car relatively stock or with minimal mods. I am not planning doing this until someone confirms!

I think what'd be ideal, is if he'd been going to the track say weekly and getting consistent times, then suddenly reduces the times after the flash. |

Blown away that you guys think engine tuning is happening via istep changes. Remember folks, the N55 is maxed out in this car. There's a little left on the table available from aftermarket tuners only. It makes zero sense for BMW to enhance the N55's performance via random software update and even less sense when you consider the Competition is on its way.

"Feels" is so subjective. Some days my M235 feels really powerful and other days it's pretty ordinary. I've noticed this with every car I've owned. Sometimes it's the atmospheric conditions at play and other times there's no explanation. Guys with Infiniti Gs and Nissan Zs would hard reset their ECUs every few months because they swore the car felt better. This goes for the VW and Audi crowds as well. Then there are those that swear their car feels faster when the fill it up and others when they change the oil. Placebos.

You can't prove a negative. It's incumbent upon those who claim changes have been made to provide evidence. Where's the proof?
