Adding VRSF intercooler benefit?

I have stage 1 bootmod3, will the addition of a better inter cooler actually give me any benefit? I've been looking at the VRSF. Any downsides such as lower power at low rpm due to the more dense fins?
Thanks for any input

the stock top mount cooler tends to leak after a while, unless you are upgrading for preventative maintenance, i recommend getting other VRSF mods for now (charge pipe, downpipe and intake)
