So are the stock seats just a terrible type of leather? It's just not as soft? Doesn't wear as well?
No, same Dakota leather. That's standard BMW leather. More exclusive models like M4/M3 get MERINO leather wich is more refined. It has a nicer look. Many don't like the Dakota leather wich appears cheaper. Personally i don't mind. That's all.

I much prefer the Lexus semi-aniline. The M2 leather feels much harder and non-compliant to me.

Perfect match with the interior. Great choice. I also would like to do the same to my M2 LCI.

I found donor seats but driver side airbag is missing. Is it possible to remove the original airbags from my seats and install them on the donor seat? Are they interchangeable?

I fitted the M2 Comp seats into my LCI. As mentioned - a straight swap if you use the underseat control boxes from the originals.

Oddly, the M2C seats have the alcantara on the outside of the side bolsters, which I'm guessing is more to do with minimising rubbing between the seat and the centre console.

Looks good.

Yes you can use the airbags from the original F87 seats. Be sure to disconnect the batterie before removing/unplugging the seats. Swap the airbags and also use original F87 electric consoles (grey colored) and seatbelt tensioners. No coding required if you go this route.

Asking the thread starter, did you have any trouble changing the M2 badges on the seats or do they come off easy?

Hi, I did not remove the badges myself. the upholsterer did it. I do think the badges are easy to remove though. The badges have two split tabs, that have mushroom shaped ends. That's pretty straight forward i think…. It's possible there is a tread on replacing them. Since the early ones tend to brake. This is dicussed somewhere on this forum, i think…

Thank you! Still enjoying them very much. I like to think this will help sell the car more easily in the future. Best upgrade so far
