I have driven a vehicle with a ZF8 and it is SMOOTH. However, not quite what I'm looking for in a sports vehicle. I guess we will find out.

I've also heard the ZF8 is much cheaper to repair should it break. I think that is behind the DCTs fall from grace.
Go test drive an F90 M5 and you will be pleasantly surprised. The ZF8 in the latest M cars are not remotely close to the ZF8 on non-M cars in terms of shifting speed and aggressiveness.

Looks like we should be getting some UK reviews and content very soon. Silver one is an AutoCar reviewer.

I read about the embargo on pistonheads. Are regular folks being asked not to make public comments also? I'm surprised by the number of deliveries and almost zero driving reviews.

I suspect the reviews will be:. Is it better than the C, yes, is it worth it...yes if you've got the cash, but it's not much different.

I'm more interested in the 6sp vs DCT reviews. I had a crazy dream about this last night.

Apologies if it came off wrong
No worries brother, I'm not that sensitive. . . incase it was not obvious, I have all questions and no answers at this point about ZF8.

///AVM
I have a ZF8 on my X4 M40i and a DCT on our F80. There is just no comparison, the DCT any day of the week. I've ordered our CS with a DCT.

I understand the DCT can't handle the higher torque levels.

No doubt they same is true between the M2C and 911.

I really do not want to turn this into Porsche vs BMW bullshit again.

Dave suggested he might look into a 911. Awesome! Cannot imagine owning a 911 and being disappointed.

However, I was suggesting Dave could get as much enjoyment out of the M2C as he could the M2CS. I will state emphatically that the M2C has lived up to my expectations, and then some.

///AVM
I think there is like doubt about the M2C = CS for enjoyment. My guess is that day to day it would be tough to perceive any difference. Especially without driving both back to back. It's the shallow intangibles of the CS that will bring extra enjoyment. And the interior
I think a lot of CS buyers may be opting for one as they will be passing up the G80 M3. Once I saw the G80 look I started looking at the 718 GTS and even new F Type. The CS hit the mark. I was never really considering a M2C.

Why did you go with DCT over 6MT?

Wow... that didn't take long. I noticed that they say the car has Dakota leather and not Merino leather though. tsk tsk
At least they post some real nice pics on their website.

On a side note, that exhaust hangs so low. Sad that it's still an issue with M2s....

"still an issue with M2s"? have you seen pretty much every M3 since the E46? same thing and it's not an "issue".

Love the CS but that low-hanging exhaust looks mechanically gross..

Come on BMW, you had one job..

Are you doing Welt delivery?

The low hanging exhaust is actually doing more of the diffuser's job than the diffuser. lol It's my understanding that rear diffusers on most passenger cars are too high off the ground to have much of an affect on airflow.

IMO, BMW should've just painted it black if they didn't want to redesign it.

I got so tired of waiting I moved on. Took the $100K (dealer wanted msrp) I would have spent on the M2 CS and used it as a downpayment on another car which i got a great deal on..

People are taking deliveries worldwide and there are so many reviews now but BMW can't even tell me if I'm allowed to buy one after waiting 10 months.

To this day i still can't decide on a color i like.. they are all so dreadful to me..black, white and silver are just shades of grey..so the only real color option is misano blue.

If i want to own an m2 that bad years down the road i'll just buy a used m2 comp.

Care to share what other car? Regardless, I think that is a wise choice. The M2CS US release has been too drawn out. And the more one thinks about it, the better some other choices become. Unless you want the car solely for its collectibility or just a massive BMW enthusiasts, other options are worth a look.

Yes what other car for the down payment? I'm tired of waiting for allocations as well. At this point my odds of getting an allocation are probably 50% at best.

If something happens on my allocation setup, I'm definitely looking HARD at an Evora.

2020 NSX... they are selling poorly and there was a $20K incentive + what ever you can get for a discount. It was "improved" in 2019 and the recent reviews say it's a great car that is greatly misunderstood.. It ticked all the boxes for me as the goal for a second car was to be different than my e92 m3... and it's a honda so ultra reliable. Oil changes are $350 not $3000 like a Mclaren. I think it's status will be like the LFA one of these days down the road when it's long gone.
