Here is my Stek Gloss carbon roof PPF

Over paid for the install but didn’t want to risk doing it myself. $700 total, of which I’m sure the majority of the cost is install. Turned out good, better than paying for the carbon roof and install for sure. If you can do it yourself, it's a cheap way to increase the aesthetics of your car. And unless someone looks closely, it looks exactly like the M performance parts carbon fiber.

Looks great! Got quoted $850 to do the STEK black film but I believe that includes the fin and roof rails as well. Would help hide the moonroof in my case.

Looks Great and thanks for sharing mate.
I am considering this mod also, but I am in two minds whether to have the side rails done also..

What would be the pros and cons of having side rails covered.

Looks pretty good. Back when I first got my car I thought about using the 3M CF material that looks like real weave and then clearing it with actual automotive clear. I never got around to doing it but I always thought that it would look pretty good.

Looks good, even the weave looks the same as the carbon roof.

Another example of this film. Will get some outside shots in a couple days once I can wash it.

Bumping this thread to see how this Stek product has held up? It's the only wrap solution I'm considering, so hoping to get some durability feedback.

allinon72 I'm about to do CF PPF on my M2. I was warned by my installer who uses Stek products not to go with their CF PPF as it's incredibly difficult to remove. He used it recently on the roof of a RR and had to remove it as he found a small defect in the material that he had not noticed while doing the install. He said it took him almost 2 weeks to remove it as it completely delaminated while trying to remove it. He had to revert to using a heat gun and his fingernails to get all the small pieces of the underlying thin CF printed material off.

I was considering Stek CF PPF too, so this is good to know. What type of PPF did your installer ultimately use?

Thanks.

Anyone have a clue on pricing for this PPF?

Ive done some wrapping before, and was looking to do my roof with this film instead of vinyl wrap.
There's only 2 decent carbon effect PPFs; Stek and Flexishield.

I cant find a price online.
Im in the UK and Spandex (owners of Stek) only sell business to business. No mention of pricing on their site without registering as a business first.

You won’t be able to buy this film unless you’re an authorize dealer/installer. It’s one of the more expensive films compared to brands like XPEL. I have had stek film on my car for 3 years. Still perfect. Zero yellowing and still hydrophobic. I also have the carbon stek roof which has held up great as well.

Do they still make this large enough for a roof wrap? I was told they don't have large sheets in gloss now, only in semi and matte.
