You can code it from iDrive 5 to iDrive 6 which is what the touchscreens use, I believe. The problem id6 is made for the touchscreen, and without it all the menus are very funky. What most do is code iDrive6 Lite. That’s made for the non touch like you and I have. You get nice active tiles in the menu, a different map and a few other goodies. Easy to roll back to iD5 if you don’t like it.

Yes, I have coded already to ID6 light. Just wanted to know if the actual screen can be updated to touchscreen.
With CarPlay introducing Waze and Google Maps I'm thinking touch screen will be a better experience than i-Drive wheel, apart from fingerprints on the screen. |

Ahh, you want a hardware change. Got it.
If you do have a touchscreen and mirror your phone, can you swipe your phone from the cars touchscreen? I wouldn’t think that would work, but could be wrong. You might want to confirm that before going through a complex update.
