Guys I have great news,
I spoke to Eventuri and they're aware of this issue and they will release a fresh air solution for the M2 competition in the near future!! Last edited by Alfy; 10-30-2019 at 12:27 PM.. |

FWIW the RW Carbon scoops are pretty much a lower cost version of the Eventuri F8X scoops. I used the Eventuri install manual to get an idea on how to fit the RW scoops (no documentation came from RW). See last 4 pages. |

Nice find, I concur that the lack of an outside air snorkel vent is another cost-cutting measure to avoid fabricating an appropriate piece for the M2C.
Glad that someone actually figured this out and even a makeshift solution. |

Not to beat this post to death but... I was looking at the Dinan tune as it seems to be the easiest to get installed locally (when it comes out Nov 12th) and they mention how quickly the tuned cars get heat soaked such that the hotter tuneups require their heat exchanger....
Well... Maybe that because there really isn't any cold air coming into the intake to begin with! They should retest after re-plumbing the intake snorkels to draw clean cold air in from the front grill |

Had they built it from scratch, I believe they would of probably caught on to this and hatched up a solution. I'm pretty sure only BMW and the few of us reading this thread are the only ones who are aware of this perceived design flaw or even care. |

I think this is the major thing ppl are overlooking.
The OEM chargecooler is a beast. I cannot imagine the light IAT increase makes that big a diff post turbos and cooler. @malakas you sure its not the OG M2 with the issues? S55 is pretty well cooled. |

OTOH unless you're monitoring all the engines data you have no idea if its pulling a little timing, dialing back boost a little, etc. Oil temps are only 1 part of the equation.

I just don't understand where the intakes are supposed to be drawing air from except from around the engine bay... the snorkel terminates in a dead section of plastic...

It's just sucking up hot air from around the engine bay. No new feed of fresh, dense oxygen. I'm sure it works for the most part but it's an asinine intake setup, considering this is a higher performing vehicle and was obviously offered in the M4 for some reason. |

Even Dinan's blurb for their rad supports how good the OEM unit is. Consistent +10 HP / +20 ft-lb of torque on the stock engine tune. Additional gains realized when used in conjunction with the Stage 3 DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner (where applicable). wow a whole 10hp gain! That's totally not in the range of a measurement error lol. |

I'd be interested in a well made solution...regardless of the fact that it's fine without, I'd like it to have access to fresher/cooler air even if it nets an almost negligable improvement.

Im going to try and take some hose and then cut a circular hole in the plastic.... should be able to funnel the air into that area pretty simply. Although maybe its a good time to buy a 3D Printer! LOL

I guess now we know why the M2CS race car has openings under the headlights...
I'm 100% sure they are channeling fresh air to the intakes!!! |
