Thank you TJ

Yes, 17 pounds seems about right.

What is interesting about this is that with all the carbon fits bits and other forms of overdone lipstick, the M2CS accomplished zero weight savings over the Competition

. . . and has the same exhaust system as the Competition for $25K more. Yet, BMW removed the center arm rest in an attempt to shed weight. What are we talking about, 3 lbs of weight savings, and for what . . . ever drive a car without a center arm rest? It sucks ass.

You think for $25K BMW would include their MPE system in a limited edition, so-called 'track oriented' car?! Is 17 lbs significant when talking about 3600 pound car? No, but neither is removing a 3 lb center arm rest that actually serves significant function.

Obviously, removing the centre arm rest saved BMW money, while the MPE dips into revenues.

Just a little thinking aloud . . .

Congratulations! Happy for you that the wait is over. I did the same regarding the front plate . Instructed that no drilling for the mount, take place. We do have a front plate law, but I will take my chances and not install one.

The M performance exhaust is only sold in US as far as I know. Other countries it is no longer legal.

Weights.

Looking great, but that garage gives me claustrophobia! Do you have to crawl out the windows?

Tell me about it! fortunate to be relatively slim so I'm able to maneuver my way inelegantly out of that tiny gap. I padded the walls with some foam just for the doors.

How intricate was it to remove the wheel arches?

You need code in the Easy Exit/Entry, it's Godsent in tight garages or for fatasses..

Took an 8mm and a 10mm socket + ratchet.

Was one of the easiest things I've done, however there's little room for you to turn the ratchet so best to jack up the car slightly. I couldn't be bothered and just got my forearms all dirty over the tyre.

In saying that, removing the residue of the glue that stuck the PPF on (underneath the trim piece and on top of the paint) was not so easy lol

$6k for an actual exhaust wouldn't be that bad.

For real, for me to spend 6k on an exhaust, those pipes would first have to be able to sing me a lullaby, every night, before I go to bed.. 😴

How much is cost of exhaust only? Most of that is labor to install, right?

No, exhaust is an easy install and only entailed about $350 of service cost. . . 'easy' if you have the tools and expertise, which the BMW technician had in abundance.

Coilover install is NOT easy . . . entailed about $1,300 of service cost.

For those interested in MP coilover settling characteristics, my technician indicated the majority of spring settling occurs early, with less over time.

He likes to insure early settling is 'level' at all corners and he had me bring the beast back in yesterday to get measurements. There was a 5mm drop at all corners. Good to go.

Recommended another measurement in 1-2K miles.

Are those the OE carbon tips? If so, do they fit on the standard saggy-butt exhaust?

They are copies for now! I have every intention to get a new exhaust when funds permit.

BMW do have an OEM set of carbon exhaust tips that fit the stock f8x exhausts including f87 m2c but at the price they want it doesn't really make sense.

Us Americans are spoiled by our garage spaces. I've not been to Australia (will rectify that at some point!) but I'm a frequent visitor to Europe and that size is not uncommon. Note the door protection pads.

Yes sir! I barely have enough space to fit my car in the garage! I then have a pipe that runs along the wall with foam insulation around it. I use that to open my door against and squeeeeezee out... if I put on any weight, I'm screwed. Lol
