The badge of white looks like it's m240i. To my eye it looks better. There's just too lines on the front end of the M2. The M240i also looks wider. The grills don't seem overdone

I've always felt the F87 was one of BMWs best designs…almost on par with the E46…so no matter what the G series looked like it was going to be next to impossible for BMW to match in my eyes. Still looking forward to the unveiling of the G87 though. I'm sure it will still be a good looking car, But planning on holding on to my F87 for as long as possible. It's not often you get one of the best drivers cars BMW has ever built paired with one of the best designs BMW has ever produced.

Reading some comments I'm glad I sold my M2, seems to have become a fanboy car. And the CS seems to be something like a Ferrari F40, c'mon guys it's just a Bmw 2 series.

I think its my amateurish photography skills. The F87 is really similar to the E46 in dimension. In the photo, you can see my car was parked a little closer than the others too. Now, the F87 parked next to my buddies Elise, the F87 looks down right massive.

It's pretty rare these days to have a 6MT RWD coupe with the classic good looks, and very good daily utility. The Costco run is a great example, and taken mine to Costco for big runs several times. The only substitutes I can think of are the special Camaros and Mustangs that are also not cheap. They are personally not my taste, although I really like the Shelby Mustangs for what they are. Yes, it takes a rare breed to spend $100K on a 2 series, but there seem to be enough of us out there. |

The G42 almost looks misshapen or deformed compared to the F87. And I really really wish they'd stop making all the cars bigger. The F 2-series was just about the perfect size for a sports coupe.
And more power to ya for using the CS as a DD. Enjoy the hell out of that amazing car! |

There's no doubt that the F87 was a great car and has set the benchmark in its class, but we're still talking about a 2-series, the coupe version of the 1-series, it's like a (great) fast food in a world full of Michelin starred restaurants. This fanboy attitude is just not for me. |

If you have not spent any seat time in a CS, you will never appreciate how special it is! Just a fact!

That's right, I do as well...COSTCO (at least the one in Houston) has very wide parking slots, for those who come shopping with a truck big enough to fit a palette of peanut butter pretzels, so I don't have to worry about door bangers

A number of YouTube car reviewers last year compared the steering in an M2 CS to a 458 Speciale. It's not fanboyism when something is universally praised, it's just a really good car. |

It's a different experience. A lot of positives that are obvious, but some negatives including lack of utility, unwanted attention, and generally not that much fun once you get past the insane acceleration. Or unless you are at the track or have a well placed area with low probability of going to jail. I've eaten at Michelin star rated restaurants, and it's also quite an experience. I'm in for that if someone else is buying. Most days, however, give me a fresh piece of blackened grouper from my fish shack that only locals know about, where I can enjoy for a fraction of the price without being pretentious. |

Both in pictures and in person I'm finding the G42s front end the hardest thing to get used to. It just feels too round to me compared to the sharpness that's all over the rest of the car. I think the good news is that the latest shots of the G87 look to confirm a sharper bumper style that's likely to make it feel more cohesive with the rest of the car.
