It's a delicate balance with a CS as a daily driver. I wouldn't mind a little more sound, but I also don't want a burbling, crackling monster exhaust.
Why is it that nobody is doing a downpjpe on this car? CEL, warranty, emissions? My state doesn't check emissions, and I had a catless downpipe on both of my 135is and it made a huge difference in sound and added HP. The first one did make a pretty noticeable petrol type smell from the exhaust, but my N54 with Dinan exhaust didn't have that. Not saying I need one, but just seems everyone is doing cat back or axle back. |

I think my car must be different. It's a bit louder and deeper compared to my M2C. Aside the infantile fireworks which I hated. I just like that it sounds like a BMW. Finally. After so many years. I am very happy as I have loved the sound of BMW sixes since my first experience 35 years ago in a 323i. I couldn't think of anything worse than it sounding like a Lambo because it isn't a Lambo. If I wanted a car that sounded like a Lambo then the obvious choice is to buy a Lambo. Not for me.

Hi guys! I too am in that same boat. Took delivery of my M2 CS and realized its a bit too quiet for my taste. Debating between the MPE or the Eisenmann performance (resonated version). Anyone have any recommendations? Not looking to spend $6k+ on anything. Definitely open to suggestions though.
thanks!

The open hood vent into the engine bay that directs both evacuated air and decibels back at the driver possibly allows more engine sound out. The lack of active sound augmentation completes the story. |

I'm amazed at the hate over a more aggressive tone with this car. Yes, I know you probably have to be fully grown to own one, I just thought since it was a more aggressive car in general, and has more power, than most guys would want a more aggressive exhaust. But I guess I got that wrong, and it appears that BMW knew it, which is why the CS has such a benign sound.

Good question. I will start with just a slip on so don't have a midpipe to test. Maybe someone who installed one could comment. I think it may

My daughter and I used think it was fun to nail the throttle under bridge overpasses in the ftype svr. It was crazy loud. The CS was weaksauce. On the flip side the svr exhaust got a little old after a while. Mainly because the pops and bangs sounded programmed. The sound from full throttle never got old. I understand the desire for a louder exhaust. Especially it it doesn't come with unwanted drone.

@bokke did you get the sound kit with your Akra?
If so, what did you think? Also, has anyone installed the Akra (diff back) without the sound kit? Is it needed? Do the valves open in Sport+? Last edited by jdl8r; 05-24-2021 at 05:54 PM.. |
