"All the while the M2 Competition is telling you what it's up to, and reacting to your inputs ultra-faithfully. It's an utter gem. For comparison, within a couple of hours of driving the M2 Competition on the road I took an M4 CS, a stripped out but still roadgoing M4, down the same route. The more expensive car felt unpredictable at the back end and short of feel at the front, so I drove it more slowly. And it had ridiculous tyre noise."
Nonsense, I thought, but after opening the link I saw that the text is written by Paul Horrell.

Interesting...

Very high praise.

From Top Gear website:

Paul Horrell:
Been around a long time. If you drive a new car, he tested its predecessor’s predecessor’s predecessor. If you work in the car industry, he knows your boss’s boss’s boss.

But, but, but.. the M4 CS has fancy Merino leather..and..and Alcantara! Even the regular M4 at least has glossy carbon fiber and carbon fiber this and that..and is more expensive! Why would all these professional reviewers claim they like the M2 more?

The M2 Competition is not even a proper M car! Oh wait...

I mean what does claiming the M2 drives better as a sports car have to do with the obviously superior fit and finish of the M4?

If you have sat in an M4 with full leather it makes the M2 interior feel like a Toyota. No getting around that.

Yeah exactly, 100% mate!

I just sat in an M4 CS @ my dealer, it's 60k EUROS more expensive. Nice alcantara steeringwheel, and exactly the same M seats as M2C

60K Euros difference lol. (160k M4CS, 100k M2C)

Bitter responses on carforums, some people have them as a hobby

Enjoy!

Cheers

Its not the same seats tho?

M4 CS seats have cut outs and Merino leather which is far superior. But doesnt matter for performance obviously.

Exactly the same seat model with the cutouts off course.

Sorry all...Had one too many Imperial stouts when I posted that. The M3/M4 group likes to put down the M2 for not having certain "M things" and amenities.

I was just being a staunch supporter for the underdog.

No need for an apology. DMK bro just posts here to tell us about the lame M2C.

Do what? I like the M2C and even had one ordered... I wouldnt be surprised if I own one in the future after someone else eats the depreciation.

True, Audi makes amazingly tight interiors. I've owned several. After 10 years the interior is still quiet like a tomb, no creaks or rattles to be found.

Nah most of them make it through warranty before breaking...

M4 isn't the best but with full leather vs an M2 its a nice step up. Which is expected for 20-30k more.
