1st Service Appt with Dash Cam

This is my first dash cam with any car. A Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2. Installed it in my M2C almost a year ago.

Anyway, it's weird and somewhat voyeuristic to watch the recorded video later after a service appointment. I have absolutely no reason NOT to trust BMW North Haven. I've used them for my 2015 M235i and now the M2 (I bought the M235 there but got the M2 from a NY dealership). I like them so much that I travel almost an hour to get there, when the local BMW dealership is 15 minutes away.

So of course it was mostly boring video. Driving it into the service bay and back out, and then a 5 minute test drive where I doubt he drove over 35 mph. But like I said, it's definitely voyeuristic watching the staff doing stuff in and around your car. The Mini 2 is so discreet that they may not have even noticed it. It's behind the mirror and you can't see it when you're driving unless you crane your neck to look behind the mirror.

I expected nothing to happen, and nothing did happen.

I do love the peace of mind though. Not just for service visits, but for the fact that it's always there recording, whatever happens.

Anyone ever see something from a service visit that they wish they didn't see?

Not at the dealer, but I've had valet at my work pop my hood and also stall my car when they were moving it. After that, I was assigned a parking spot in the structure.

This car is almost impossible to stall unless you have the emergency brake on, pretty amazing.

Some people just suck at driving stick, especially if they're not used to a particular clutch and their catch point.

Oh, definitely, but this car has both a really progressive clutch engagement and some kind of anti-stall feature. If you let it out slowly it might be impossible to stall, even without giving any gas at all.
