I tend to only put music on when cruising , then I'm in comfort mode when ASD is effectively off.

If i want to have a spirited drive, first thing is music off, control display off, crack the window and put in sport or sport plus then the asd does its thing.

It's the first option on Bimmercode "Active Sound Design", just activate it.

Unless I'm using the nav, I have the display off. It's the first thing I do after I back out of the garage. There's a few times I've started a fun run with the music cranked, pop culture style, but I always turn it off after a moment; I need to hear what's going on!

Yeah i always turn it off in the dark too.

I wish the control display folded away or retracted or something. Like the old z4.

Dash would be much cleaner / classic looking without it stuck there.

Is there an easy way to tell if ASD has been turned off already? I bought the car used in Mar and the prior owner had it the whole time since 2016.

If when you change to sport or sport plus, on a light throttle the engine note changes then its on.

You can only restore after deactivating.

It sounds like a broken sewing machine with the windows closed when it’s truly off… 🫠

In my G80 M3 that I had previously the exhaust flaps were linked to ASD if you turned it off the flaps wouldn’t fully open. What’s the score with the M2?

If you have a tune like Bootmod, you can link the exhaust valves to driving mode. For instance, exhaust valves fully open in Sport and Sport plus and normal flaps in Comfort which is really quiet without any drone and mimimal ASD. I don't mind the ASD with my exhaust flaps stuck open because I hear the exhaust more than the ASD.

That’s surprising to hear. I don’t think anything like that occurs with the M2C. I’ve had ASD off since the second week of ownership and I can hear the flaps open and close when I change engine modes.
