You can have the exhaust valve 100% open in sport and sport plus with bootmod3 tune, you can adjust it in the options ( if you don't want to flash the car because warranty then the other option is

Other way to open the exhaust valve 100% of the time is coding it with Bimmerlink, super simple and easy to do

Let me chum in here. I have AA single mid pipe which I swapped out from my Comp onto the CS. It's improved the sound somewhat and is definitely louder when the valves are open. Prior to that, I had an '17 OG with MPE which had the sweetest sound.

I also agree that compared to the OG and Comp, the CS valves have a mind of their own - putting in Sports/Sports+ does not necessary open the valves.

As a result, I installed the VSC-2 Valve Controller. Now I'm in total control.

The only thing I don't like about the flaps is the metallic clink they make each time they butterfly open or closed (which can be several times a minute depending on throttle application). That alone is tempting me to get the Akra remote kit just so I can open or close on demand.

I tried Bimmerlink and got very frustrated with it. It doesn't remember your last setting and the app loses your settings after even a short drive.

Here's another option. I have this on my M2C as it works with the S55 also. Plugs into the OBD reader and is controlled by the BC switch on the turn signal.

I can already control my exhaust valves to be permanently on with Sport/+ but that gaget would be fantastic!

My akra link pipes came with a "control module" has anybody used this ? Seems somewhat similar to some of the above options. I can't seem to find much information on it. It was included w the full exhaust setup

Any thoughts on the M2CS vs AMG GTR? Was considering upgrading to one.

Not really a comparison. Completely different types of cars.

Although i'd consider the Vantage over the AMG GT/R quite heavily given that you can get it with the 7 speed manual.

Aston are AMG influenced vehicles now, not that it is bad, I haven't driven the new ones yet…..but engine, transmission, entertainment etc. might be similar between these two, I meant the GT/R

Yeah, they're pretty much exactly the same from a powertrain/chassis perspective. However, the Aston gives you that sweet 7-speed dogleg manual option.

Congrats!
I also have a GT3 and an M2 CS. The exhaust is the most disappointing part of this car if you have a GT3. I still have my stock CS exhaust and have become used to it. It sounds good. I just wish it was louder. However, it is my daily driver so I can't complain. 13k miles.

I went with the Akra axel back and really happy with the outcome. No wheezy rasps anywhere in the rev range, a little louder at lower revs (though no obnoxious cracks and pops), get it above 4k rpm and the titanium pipes start to zing like an old school F1, and it looks great (not to mention 10kg weight save).

The BMW M Performance exhaust transforms the CS. It should have come with this exhaust from the factory. May be a good option for you.

The AMG GTR is an absolute animal. I loved it so much that I regretted selling my green launch edition and bought a white one a year later. The white one has upgrade iPE downpipes. It's a lovely toy with tons of power. Having said that, I still feel the manual GT3 was more enjoyable from a drivers perspective. It's hard to beat the gearing on the 991.2 GT3, but I will say that the AP2 Honda S2000 comes very close

Agree on the exhaust. Love the sound, but wish it were louder. I'm afraid that if I swap the exhaust it will be loud when I don't want it to be loud. It's a DD. Wife and I are planning another purchase that will be more focused on exhaust etc. We decided that I should keep the exhaust stock, equip iron brakes, and put the saved funds into next car. I think I've got her convinced that the upcoming ZR1 is a better buy than the Z06 . We'll see. I want a gt3, but her turn to pick.

I really enjoy hearing the perspectives of folks with other brands. Thanks!
