No longer part of the cool kids club
I sold my CS over this past weekend. May regret it later, but planning a move back to our home state and the idea of making payments for 6 months to keep the car parked and then have to pay upwards of 2500 dollars for shipping and cross my fingers it isn't damaged made it an easy financial decision when I was able to drive the car for 8 months essentially for free and make some money on top of it.
I'm seeing these cars listed for 104 and 124k - crazy. Time will tell whether that's just the car market in general right now or the CS and we'll see how much the new m2 comp might influence that negatively/positively. All that being said, I still hope to engage with you guys here as you've all been a great group to connect with and I will continue to live vicariously through you on CS ownership unless I decide to pick one up again in a few years. My plans, once we're back in Florida is a more suited vehicle for flat primarily highway roads, like the *gasp* g80 m3 comp or maybe finally go Porsche with a GT4.. the new m2 is in play, but not liking what I seen so far. I just didn't think I'd get the same exhilaration driving the CS on flat, mostly straight roads as I have here in the Colorado canyons and there is no better time to "get out" out of a car than right now. Enjoy the crap out of your car guys, don't save it for the 'next guy'

I’m glad you got to experience it. Think about a 996 911 before it’s too late. Much more fun than a gt4 imo and about 3x less expensive. Good luck with the move. Seems like many are moving south to Florida

Oh and the million dollar question. What did you get for yours and spec and miles.

And sorry to see you go but the car market right now makes us have challenging thoughts. I’m certainly starting to have thoughts of selling as I have a hard time driving mine. I’m not sure I am getting my money’s worth |

Sad to hear!
Maybe you'll come back tomorrow and tell us you were just being deceptive.

Ah sad to see you go! We had twin specs and I remember our cars being on the same vessel too.
My break-even after tax, PPF, and OEM carbon is around mid 90s. My car sits in the garage collecting dust at 2,100 miles but I'd be really hard pressed to find a replacement car that ticks all the boxes at the 95-105k+ price point. I think the closest replacement for me is going to be in the 150k range, unfortunately. Even if I were to stay with BMW and get into a G80/82 in a manual at around 100k new, I'd feel a bit odd trading a limited production car for a straight up mass produced car I'm still not entirely crazy about. |

For me, it was less about the car itself - you're right, in the price range, nothing.. and I'm still not crazy about the g80, but with a child and knowing Florida roads, I think the 4dr sedan might be a better daily fit since I'd expect to do more driving there.

Cadillac does seem to be upping their game. No experience, but can it match the bmw refinement? The interiors are nice.

2 people I know sold their CS. They didn't make profit but lost like 4-5k for 12 months which is insanely low for cars of that price. The only one in blue and DCT for sale in my country is an imported version from Germany (without swiss warranty) with 4k miles on the clock and is for sale for 3k less than I bought mine 14 months ago. I wouldn't sell mine though but it is the first M I had which lost so few the first year of ownership. The only (new) cars for now that I am interested in (in my budget) are the next M2 and the M4 Competition MxDrive.

I drove the CT4 and CT5 Blackwings back in August at a Cadillac experience thing. I was very impressed with the bit of time I had with them. I liked the CT4 more than the CT5 as well. Ride quality and steering was excellent as was the interior. Engine and exhaust was great as well. Brakes were better on the CT4 than the CT5.

A mint stickshift Chevy SS commands decent value, although i'd rather have the stickshift CT5V Blackwing. Although if choosing between the ATS-V/CT4-V Blacking and Chevy SS i'd take the commodore. I'd rather have the LS3 compared to the turbo V6 they're using. |

Why is it a downgrade? I think as a 4 door, the G80 is a pretty compelling car if you are OK with the looks and understand that it's physically a bigger car.

I'd also agree that it's a downgrade. If you're fine with an automatic, take the novelty of the Giulia QV, or if you want the stick go with the Cadillac.
