well, guys not sure what the future value of the CS is but I sold mine.

$23,500 over sticker

just couldn't keep it at that point and honestly, the locked ECM thing really turned me off.

Boss move. What was mileage and spec? Trade-in, private sale, dealership?

Hmmmnn if I could get that I would consider selling too. What was the mileage and did you have any other costs in it such as PPF?

I always will, I think. When I drove it away for the last time I was definitely wondering if its the wrong decision. What a spectacular driving car!

Miles were in the 3xx range, no ppf but it was ceramic coated and tint which are not "costs" per say, imo.

I mean I think of everything as money out and money in...the net amount is what you made right?

thats a good marker. 3xx miles is pretty low so you had basically a new car.

are they still even putting these cars out or is the production run over? I see people still taking deliveries..

M2CS production ceased on January 8th, 2021

Anything selling now would be secondhand

Don't forget the sales tax he paid when he bought the car. That would be subtracted from the $23K over sticker.

With Sales Tax, shipping, PPF and Ceramic Coating, I think I'm over $10K in additional cost.

I'm actually surprised the CS value hasn't gone up more, with production ended, and the new M3/M4 being so hard to find the right owner that thinks it looks halfway decent you would think there is more demand for the CS.

The lotus Emira is tempting, but I really love the CS. And I'd miss not being able to take my son around. He loves the car. Plus we plan to add a 2 seat vert in a couple years. CS is going to be my DD beater. First world problems. I love it. A 25% profit is legit, and I don't blame anyone for selling.

Hey Lotus, make a convertible Emira

If you cash out you'd be out sales tax, but most states offset sales tax when trading it in.

People thought it was expensive to begin with. Even I balked at paying basically the same amount I did as my loaded F80 Comp for an M2.

Definitely a niche market for best drivers car BMW makes, but far from the fastest car from BMW. At $100K, you start getting into some great driving cars, though very few have the practicality and versatility of the CS.

People appreciate this car, but I don't think there's enough separation from the M2 Comp to make it a huge money car.

The M2 CS future value to me is $0, since i'm not selling it and planning to drive it until its a total loss. So future money value is -$85k.

Worst financial decision ever lol.

What at a $100k is a better driving car? I mean that sincerely, cause in the used and new market, its not that easy to find a better car at $100k.

I have a Lotus Emira order in right now cause that feels like a steal of a deal at $93,900, but then the ownership proposition of a Lotus in america is poor (non-existent dealer network). As a Boxster GTS 4.0 owner, i don't believe the GT4/CGTS is a better drivers car and properly loaded, thats closer to $120k. Base 911 properly loaded is going to be between $120k-$140k and is PDK.

Lotus, Cayman GTS, C8, used 991 Carrera S are all in the ballpark. Even the M4 GTS was in the ballpark a couple months ago, but I think it's starting to take off. If you don't need rear seats, those are all dedicated sports cars.

The biggest competitor may be the G8X M cars at pretty much the same price point. They are heavy with questionable design, but get great reviews on the driving experience.

I would still rather have the CS than all of those cars, though I haven't driven a new M3/4. I think a lot of people only care about pure numbers, and the new M cars are definitely faster.

the 992 gt3 would be a dream to replace the 2cs with (at msrp, yea right) but the “problem” with the gt cars is they don’t like to putt around town because they are lower in torque and more rigid; don’t like to be shifted slowly; etc. 2cs is easy to drive and side step with its short wheelbase at any speed up to about 140. and I have a gt4

That's true but if you see the thousands upon thousands I spend on mods on cars you wouldn't worry about the few hundred on the CS.

Truth is, I bought it to enjoy and drive but I have a 2 and 3 year old and work 6 days a week which means not a lot of miles get put on any of my cars.

95 sticker but the missing part of the equation is that I paid 91.
91 plus tax plus shipping, no ppf, paid 300 for coating is about 98k total for me.

If you look at the market, 95 sticker cars are priced 120-125 with more miles, I actually cheap sold the car, lol.

Value update: bank refi proof

I just refi'd my CS because I was sitting at a 5% interest rate. (Scary) I was down to $70k when I refi'd and purchased the car originally in Feb '21. I didn't opt in for the carbon ceramics and went with MT. (Around $93 after NYS tax). At 11 months, the credit union refi'd at appraised the worth $91.7k. I was extremely surprised because as I understand depreciation, the CS should have dropped at least 10k.
