M2cs center console arm rest solved (Edit: Upgraded version 2)

The yoga block is $7.99, it is very soft yet dense. It is the perfect height, it pretty much matches the door card height. It fits in between the seats snugly and does not move at all when you rest your elbow on it.

New and improved

Added an OEM comp armrest. It took a few months to get here but it was worth it.

If it allows you to enjoy the car in comfort, more power to you. Enjoying the drive is all that matters.

I need an armrest when I drive, or rather both arms resting at the same height. I will likely retrofit a normal armrest when I figure out how to keep it in place. If I will definitely share..

No armrest, no care 😂 but with the way I drive sometimes there's no way that's staying in place

It's your car. You paid for it - not some trolling grump who wants to advise you what your correct decisions should have been. All power to you.

My forearm rests on the alcantera nicely but this isn’t a good thing. In the summer. Sweats and sun screen etc.

Your product would make a lot of sense for me. I have professional seamstresses so I can make an alcantera cover for it

And I bet I could use it for the lotus exige to prevent left knee damage as it hits the tub.

For $8 it was a no brainier. If you get one, try it out in the cs. You will actually laugh at how comfortable it is. It feels nicer than the M2c i just sold...

No storage, but the armrest does slide forwards/backwards. You can see it in both positions in the pics.

LOL, awesome! Just lay it in there and enjoy. Pull it out and drop it behind the seat when you are not driving.

I honestly want to hear what you think when you get it!

Maybe just retrofit the centre console complete with armrest from the regular M2?

This solution lets me have the center armrest I wanted yet keeps the integrity of the car. I did think about replacing the whole thing, but it was too much money and too much work. Also the comp center console has the dry carbon that would look way out of place without some sort of customization.

This took me about 45 minutes to modify the foam and OEM arm rest. It was a cheap and easy addition that I can remove in one second.

I feel bad for those where having no armrest is an issue. I find the lack of armrest perfect, as an armrest. Your solution looks great. Nice work! Looks like it came that way.

No need to feel bad. There are solutions out there. Some require a little ingenuity.

The cheap solution is great. I throw it on the passenger seat when car is sitting so as to not indent the seats. I considered a second one to build up the rest a little higher but I don’t want to invest too much…lol just kidding.
Awesome idea!
