I've never had a vanity plate on any of my cars. I'm not a fan of cocky plates like:

2FST4U
MYBMR
HILIFE

A bit cooler but asking for trouble, I saw one

AMG KLR

I was considering one for my car for the first time, and it's available in my state:

F87CS or
6MTCS

I think it's understated, and the average driver behind me will think it's a normal plate number. Only those who know will know. Yes or no?

F87CS. Only those in the know would know. That's why it is cool. The rest, quite honestly, would require you to be dragged from the car and beaten up. You always need to balance the keying risk / reward ratio.

Just got new plates on my Z3. They are so obscure that only a handful of people in a city of 5 million would notice. That's the way I like it.

I never understood why people put the name or car model on the license plate. It's right there on the trunk!

Doesn't that suggest impotence though? Or am I missing some subtlety?

It’s very subtle and muted. It actually suggest your passionate about the brand and model of the car and being more direct to people who’s reading it.

Maybe I have a different meaning of what personalized plate mean. I want someone reading the plates to become a guessing game. Whoever is reading it know it’s a fancy car, but how is it different to other cars? Whatever you choose, it has a direct correlation in your personal life.

Like I said I never have. But again, only 1 out of 1,000 drivers would understand what F87CS means and it's better than some random letters and numbers.

Still undecided.

I generally shy away from them and don't have them on any of my other cars. But did do this.

I believe having the model of the car as the personalized plate is a clean look. Why add additional noise? For me, it adds to the uniqueness of the car. Also, the less characters on the plate the better/cleaner look IMO. To each his own.

Meant to say, no other M2CS owner in the state will have the same license plate.

All my cars have them. Gives them character. I don't like putting the model name on it. It's already there; why repeat it? I also like to be able to transfer plates to other cars if I sell the car. Each to his own.

Good thing you couldn't get it, your friends might start calling you limp d*ck. 🤣.

Antique collector cars often have the build year and model as a personalized plate...if they're lucky.

I was considering:

CLB SPRT

But, my wife is vehemently against personalized plates...lol

However, I think it's very understated and she herself probably wouldn't even get it!
