Some wing pics.
I wasn't expecting the gurney flap in the back. Thank you Dan Gurney. Mounting point it uses the street car holes so should be easy and effective retrofit to a street car. once again, sorry for the sideways pics. I clearly don't upload them like this. Glitch in the forum software

I personally really like the wing. I wouldn't put it on my street car, but it looks perfect on the race car. So cool having both versions of the CS.

You're seriously pushing me toward installing the wing. I didn't want to look like Pep Boys customization, but since BMW Motorsport developed it, it must be functional as hell.

IMO the wing is so well thought out and looks great. It's a piece of BMW motorsports that likely won't be around forever and is unique to the M2. Buy it while they are available and they aren't that much more than an APR wing which can lean Pep Boy's ish.

I didn't want to let this opportunity slip through my hands. I think the M2 CS is a very special car in both forms.

We are headed to our local (2 hours away) track for the weekend!

Seating Position: Insanly low. In the paddock you don't think it's gonna work but it does. It's proper race car
Steering Wheel: Epic. I have learned one hand steering in the paddock is best so as to not want to grab 12' oclock. Turning radius in parking lot: You need a baseball stadium to to a u turn. But on the track at speed it just works. FDS Mode: Keep it in Wet. Dry just wears things out faster and no one needs that DSC: On and it lets you get loose. I drove this way my first weekend. Not invasive for me but for a professional driver it was a little confused at the line he took at Nascar Bend, lol. MDM Mode: Will let you drift if you want Fuel: 93 octane. They don't want your storing ethanol fuel in the fuel cell. They have a fuel dump feature which is done from the fuel rail in the engine bay and a series of buttons on the console. This is an awesome feature. Fuel Level: it holds 120 liters. Thats about 30 gallons of fuel. It only tells you how much fuel you have used. It doesn't tell you how much is left in the tank. So this is also a good reason to pull fuel out and put fuel in so you know exactly how much is in the tank for qualifying etc.. Braking: WOW, probably the biggest difference in any race / track car I've ever owned. You can brake so late. I need to learn how to left foot brake now. My first DCT so hopefully I'll get there. Throttle: There is a little turbo lag but you get used to it and power in early, just make sure the wheel is open before you do or DSC will "slow you down", I mean save your ass, haha DCT: What took me so long? James drove 3 sessions and I drove 5. Midway through my 5th session I learned how to relax and just drive the car. Things were becoming second nature and just so effortless. Gearing: Gearing seemed great at VIR. Shift light points: Shift points are lower than the street car, which I suspected was proper via one of my threads here. Shifting at redline is not always faster. No need to rev your street cars out to redline either. Torque: Max torque same as street car but comes in at 1850 vs 2350 for our street cars Sound: Sounds similar to the street car just better, more of everything. Diff noise, fuel pumps, Gears, Diff cooler pumps, etc.. Proper race car noises. Airjacks: One of the most convenient and easiest and coolest features of the car. The Electronics being the other super nice item. I got the 2 level setup but have only used the single level to work on the car. Car came with the wand. I had to buy the tank $150, the hose, the cage and the regulator. I set the regulator at 375 psi and it's perfect speed for my needs. Can get the car up on all four in about 2-3 seconds. Interior: Next level. Proper major manufacturer motorsport level. Yes, it has plastic where the GT4 has CF but this car is basically a baby GT4. Wing: I didn't play with that yet. It's in the neutral setting Diff: So awesome. Just had to break it in. Took 15 min of light track usage. We bead the brakes in at the same time. Steering: So good. You can really be aggresive at turn in and let the rear come around and power out. This is a major difference between my former cars and this car. Sort of same level steering as my 944 Cup Car, just better. Software: Aim system and automatic GPS and timing etc. Really haven't gotten into this yet. Been too busy at work. HP: 320 ish wheel HP it won't break top speeds but it will allow you to carry that speed DEEP into the corners. The GT2 RS would pull away in the mile long back straight at VIR but by the time we got to HOG PIN I was on his tail. Tires: I shelved the Michelin Slicks. Those are next level and I'm learning the car on Hoosier R7's. Good grip and a great tire to learn the car on. In 2 weeks I'll be at Pitt Race. They allow passengers so I'm taking my boy. It's my 50th birthday weekend. What a present for me. To share the car and a hobby of mine with my 15 year old. Spoke with one the the BMW CCA Club Racing Directors at VIR. He thinks it's an IP car. It's stock with about 10:1 power to weight ratio. I heard from one source they were sold out, then I heard from another there maybe a few more available but I wouldn't be surprised if they sold out quickly. I'm not sure how many they are bringing in but it won't be many. Mine came in with 9 other cars. I think they brought in 50 M240ir? I could be way off here. LMK if there is anything I missed or you would like a deeper description of and I'll do my best.
