My dealer contacted me today.
I’ve been in the market with them before for an M2 comp, but had been looking for an X3M or X5M or Panamera Turbo to compliment my 135i M-Sport rather than swapping it out. Well, they texted me this morning they had 2 M2 CS’s coming in. Both manual, one black, one silver. By the time I called him back about 30 mins later, the black was sold. When I nearly bought the comp from them a couple years ago, they wanted to tack on $5k to the sticker last minute, and I said no. Well, today they offered it at sticker but a non refundable $2k deposit. I went yolo, frustrated with finding a used Panamera or X?M in a spec I liked for a few months now so I pulled the trigger and put a deposit in over the phone. Silver, Manual, Gold wheels. Would have preferred any other exterior color expect maybe the blue (too Subaru looking, but didn’t have a choice here). Should be here in 10-14 days they said. Think I may get a Ford Flex eventually to fill my AWD winter car/hauler needs. The CS + Flex is about the same as a used Panamera Turbo Gran Turismo (really wanted the extra storage of the hatch). .... Now, what to do with my 2011 135i M-Sport. It was recently in a front left cosmetic only fender bender (hood, bumper, fender, headlight, bracket damaged only) (don’t let noobs drive your BMW with traction off), and just picked up a Seibon Carbon Fiber hood, Seibon Carbon Fiber ducktail trunk, euro full clear headlights, and Seibon M3 style hood, 1M style bumper. Nearly went wide body 1M fenders but decided to just get factory fender. Also picked up a 7” stepped FMIC, yet to install this and the hood/fender/bumper. Was going to do the all the installs myself minus paint and would break even with insurance with my own labor. Been sitting on it since it’s freezing here and I lost my garage access for the time. Not sure if I should fix and sell, or just keep the thing since it’s a convertible. Might not be as fast as the M2 CS, but a nice weekender with the top down, and not too shabby with upgrades and tunes. It’s fairly low miles, but the resale on these is pathetic considering the styling and performance. |

No repairs other than water pump right before warranty expired, of course. My Dad has a hanger so I’ll park it there for now and we can work on it together come summer since he’s retiring and wants to bond more. He’s been thinking about getting a C8 Vette, (he’s a Trans Am/Vette guy though I’d rather see him in a 911 or AMG), maybe the CS will make him jealous over his current C5 Vette and he’ll stop pussyfooting on the C8.
