The burbles are in the M2C tune. I doubt any exhaust will give you that without tuning it in. I activated the burbles with MHD on my 1M and eventually turned them back off.

That's good news for me. I'm not doing the exhaust for the burbles and prefer to keep them to a minimum unless it's really being rung out in S+ or S.

Active Autowerke's Equal Length Mid Pipe - non resonated
Remus Race Exhaust (axel back)
Remus Race Carbon Fiber Tips

Overall: Exhaust is louder than stock, has some mild burbles, but not crazy with all kinds of pops and bangs. Could be a bit louder when valves close, but overall I would say it is good. Definitely happy to have the cows utter/diaper sag gone!

I'll keep words to a minimum here. I have and posted two links below to videos I've done on the install and drive bys. Enjoy!

Very nicely done videos, hat’s off to you! However I must say there isn’t much difference in sound. Yes, a bit louder, but hardly makes it impressive. I might still go Dinan, but I wouldn’t expect great benefit from that one either, but it would be a lot cheaper.

Has everyone watched the Dinan exhaust video? Sounds better than all the other options.

I had this same thought. Most seem to stay away from it but I thought it sounded great. I also think the miltek is one of the better sounding exhausts, but poeple say it lacks quality.

I agree. Have you seen the thread on the Dinan/AA EL non-res combo? I am considering that option or a Remus race rear section.

I PMed back and forth with Mike at EPH. I'm in the camp that likes a higher pitched sound. A Kline inconel system would have my interest if they would make one for our cars. So far it's the Remus Race or the AA Signature. I'm told the AA has a higher pitch and Remus has a throatier mid range. I really like the sound of the EL midpipe with the stock CS rear section, but I'd like it louder. I miss the loud echo under overpasses that I had with my last car.

What I don't like is that most exhaust manufacturers seem to try and make an inline 6 sound like a v8. Why? I just want my inline 6 to sound like a flat 6 from a GT3. Also seems to unobtanium.

I really want to hear these two systems in person. However, a BF deal could have me dive in. Any opinions on whether Remus or AA holds better on the second hand market. If I buy and don't like it, I'll unload it.

I just watched a Dinan exhaust video on the CS, and I'm seriously considering it. I don't want to spend $5-6K on exhaust that will do nothing for performance and potentially hurt the resale. I think Dinan is viewed almost as a manufacturer upgrade to most buyers. My only complaint is that the Dinan tips are a bit large for the M2.

Some days I love the stock exhaust and some days I think it needs a little more volume. I need to see/hear the Dinan in person, as I don't like a raspy tone that I hear in some of the other exhaust videos.

I want to hear some in person. I've got a BMW drive I'm attending in Nov where I hope to hear some aftermarket exhausts. I might seek out some cars and coffee events to attend as well.

Akra exhaust and AA EL getting fitted tomorrow. Keeping the original exhaust box and mid-pipe intact and uncut. Will be cutting the steel AA EL and not the titanium Akra.

Will be finished by this time tomorrow.

Interesting, I didn't know you had to cut the AA EL pipe to fit the Akra. I think I saw a video where the EL pipe hooks up directly to the Remus axle back, so I hoped that it would be the same for the Akra.

Definitely didn't cut anything off or add anything on when I did the EL with Akra.

Should have said if cutting is required will be doing it to the AA. Sounds like it may not be needed. How did your' go?

Fairly smooth. Nothing difficult about the install. It seems to have been documents by others as well so I wasn't worried about having any hiccups when it came to doing it on my own.

In for more sound clips! Definitely excited for the savings of the Dinan + AA EL but install seems to require customization. Like the tips on the Akra/Remus/MPE. Great info in this thread.
