Those pebble sounds are painful to hear! That's why I don't bring her out until around beginning of May

Does anyone know if the Fall Line Motorsports M2 Competition Oil Cooler Guard will work with the BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Front Splitter?

What kind of warning did you get, low oil pressure? If you did not catch this it could have been catastrophic engine damage?

You have to be pretty unlucky for something to bounce up and hit that. It looks big too like it got wedged between car and road. It's certainly not small rocks doing this.

No warnings came up. I stopped within a few minutes after some road debris bounced about under the car.

Yep. Will work just fine with the M Performance front lip.

Yet they mimic the same exact design in the new G series M340i with the ZTK Cooling and HP Tire Package and probably the S58 equipped vehicles.

So, obviously they don't care or figure the benefit outweighs the potential risk of a road hazard.

It's not a flaw, it's a trade-off. There might not have been any other place to put it with all the other competing needs and requirements for crash testing. They could have easily not given it to us, but then people would complain about oil temps and limp mode.

Exactly! If it was a design flaw, they wouldn't have chosen same design for F90 M5 as well.

Same exact setup with the S58 as well. It is in the new S58 tech document.

This is where M division shows that performance is the top priority. There are lots of more practical BMW vehicles but a “Competition” is as hardcore performance BMW’s get so some allowances need to be expected.
Honestly, taking a rock to the front radiator through the grille is more concerning to me. I also use a modified ShopVac with a flexible tube to vacuum out the front radiators. I found on my last C4S that the front openings suck up every kind of trash from cigarette butts to candy wrappers. The front grills on the M2C are just as wide and more of them. The first time I vacuumed the front of my 911 I was shocked at the amount of trash that hides where you can’t see.

I took a air gun and blew through the oil cooler and a bunch of stuff came flying out.. a lot of small sand/rocks, cigarette butts, and even a dragonfly lol.

Try the ShopVac mod. It will be worth it. I got a clear flexible hose at Lowe’s home improvement store like the ones used with pool filters and duck taped it to a modded crevice tool.

Fair enough but you'd think a protective screen that doesn't affect the cooling yet protects it wouldn't be that difficult to engineer.
