M240 exhaust on M2?

Anyone know whether a 2017 M240i x-drive coupe exhaust would fit on a 2018 M2 LCI?

I have a spare M240 stock exhaust in my basement from when I put an M performance exhaust on my now sold M240, and am wondering if I can put it on my 2018 M2 LCI. If you're wondering why in the hell I would want to do this that's a fair question. The simple answer is selling the MPE with titanium tips on my M2 would offer some spare cash which I need right now and would have the added benefit of softening my neighbor's complaints

Not to sound condescending...

but you have the two exhausts in hand...you should be able to have a look and eyeball to see whether it'll fit or not. I'm betting on the latter just from a quick google search of the stock exhausts

No offense taken. I actually don't have the exhaust in hand--it's in my house in another state. And, candidly, I am not mechanically inclined so I figured I'd rely on the experts here.

Check part numbers. If they're the same they'll swap no problem.

Ah gotcha. I doubt it'll fit considering the two have different engines but that's not to say you couldn't fabricate it to fit if you're willing to go that far

considering the tips location I think it has a good chance of working. I still wouldn't do it. Find someone who is looking for MPE and will trade you the stock M2 exhaust + cash

This is the best option.

According to Realoem, It's the same part# for the clamp that hold the midpipe and rear exhaust together, so it's at least the same tube diameter. Unknown whether the hanger brackets are in the same place though and whether the M2 wiring is compatible with the M240i exhaust valve. Even if everything lines up perfectly, you've added something that will detract potential buyers if you sell privately, and it might sound like poop also. Someone has a listing for an stock 2018 muffler assembly for 200.00. It's safe to say you'll make way more than that selling MPE
