Calling Experts: 763m front wheel 9x19 on rear

Hi everyone,

Looking to put 763m wheels on my M2. I don’t want to run 20s in the rear, but like the oem orbit grey color.

Can I run a square setup with 9x19 all around? I plan to keep the stock tire sizes at 245/35/19 front and 265/35/19 rear.

Here is what willtheyfit.com says. Think I’ll run in to any problems?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Mike!

There is literally no problem with this at all, as far as fitment, but damn she's going to be tail happy!

But IMO it's MUCH smarter to buy a standard set of 763's and have them powder coated to match the Orbit grey (which is unspecial at best), or something close. That way you retain the driving dynamics/safety/tires/your life.

Somehow, I’ve survived two winters and a few dozen track days on square wheel/tire packages. This response is taking the change in handling to a bit of an extreme.

It requires slightly more care with throttle application and nothing more. The M2 is quite nicely balanced on a square wheel/tire setup.

OP, if you want to do the 9x19 square, I’d suggest a 255/35 all around and you get the added benefit of being able to rotate your tires front to rear.

Which means you're not the average bear.

I stand by what I said. If you're looking to maintain the factory balance of the car, staggered by 20mm it is. If you're a track rat or just trying to get through the snow, that's something different.

If you MUST have a square Summer set-up for the street, it's better to have 10" all the way around with 265. Notice the 255 (in the most popular tire) is not really wider, it's just taller...

Welp. I’m torn. Guess I can sell my extra front wheel and just order new correct size rears and just paint gloss black or silver.

Hmmm 🤔
