Hm, like you said, the Y-axis is a bit off.
I scaled the Y-Axis a bit and tried my best to align the HP numbers (ignore the torque, the scale is off on that). I think regardless, it shows a good improvement on the top end for sure. |

This is more correct. The HP axis on the AFTER run is scaled higher. If you just map the hp points to the RPM, you can easily see the car is making more power at every RPM after peak torque.

Nice graph thanks. Certainly makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
It's now cannon IMO that stock inlet limits stock turbo at high flow. I won't need a stage 1 hybrid turbo now for top end! |

One end of the MST is connected to turbo which will move (albeit slightly) on the engine mounts. The other end is rigidly joined to oem air intake which is mounted in the engine bay via rubber grommets. Pure v1 and v2 uses top part of oem inlet pipe which has a flexible part so no issues.

Well she drives and sounds great! The GF agrees also saying it just says 'here you go' with the power.
Car is Def throatier and you can hear turbo spool more but still nice and classy. What's more mpg was doubled! Jk 20mpg |

Ah ffs was just outside with the camera filming the exhaust haha! Getting dark now. I'll get to it.
No probs so far though. I think what it is resting on isn't moving or moving a lot. |

Hi OP,
how long did the install take? A video I saw last night says they took 10 hrs and they were not beginners at wrenching. I am. Is this a shop install? How come you didn’t get the CST at half the price only. Just asking. Last edited by vrooooom; 03-28-2021 at 11:57 PM.. |

Inlets for this car are FTP, pure, masata, MST that I know of. My garage did FMIC, Turbosmart DV, chargepipe and turbo inlet in about 3.5-4 hrs |

Watched 3-4 YouTube videos on this. I don’t think it’s an install for regular wrench. Very tight. Tricky. Requires “special” tools not everyone has. Patience. Now I just need to find a mechanic familiar with the M2. Seems all the other BMWs are much much easier.
That DV is in a very tight spot. |

I think there's some confusion. Maybe you are meaning an air intake? Maybe not. This attaches to outlet of the airfilter assembly and goes to the turbo intake.
The DV valve is indeed difficult to get to, my garage is very competent but hard for them also. There's an oil line in the way I believe. Some have had luck with ball jointed heads on tools but I don't know specifics. I think if you need to ask or worried about the DV don't do it! Rates in UK are far cheaper than the US though which is a consideration for those living there. |

I did an intercooler, charge pipes, diverter valve, MST inlet and downpipe over a weekend. The diverter valve and inlet are for sure the most difficult part of what I did.
There is basically NO room to fit your hands in anywhere. Most of the time you are going in blind and trying to get a tool on a bolt by feel. The biggest issue is the water pump, which you can unbolt and kind of move out of the way, but its still really in the way. I'd assume any shop doing this in a reasonable amount of time probably removes the pump and just refills afterwards. I probably spent 10 hours alone on the DV and MST inlet. I am no beginner to working on cars and have rebuilt several JDM engines... Also, afterwards your hands are going to look like you just slugged your way through a bare knuckle boxing tournament or got into a fight with a feral cat of some sort

ok so i guess it's time to look for some shop I can trust to do this.
So is it worth it doing the DV and MST? Quote:

MST I feel Def worth it. DV feels the same but hopefully lasts better than OEM or doesn't leak boost if you tune. Believe stock one is already a good uprated part.

The MST just improves about less than half the length of the piping. I don't understand how that can really make a substantial difference. I thought the air intake is not the bottleneck. Just asking.

About to order one. Can someone tell me which one I should get the v1 or v2. No clue what's different between the 2. Anyone?
Stock turbo and no plans on upgrading it to a bigger one.
