M2 DCT problem
Hi everyone. Had somebody problem with DCT when turn on rear gear it turns on Neutral gear (malfunction code 40EC02)? You can turn selector to DRIVE but it turns only D2. If I restart my car, I can turn on ANY gear and it will be ok. Mileage is only 5000 miles, transmission oil level is normal. Thank you
Upd: problem was solved with full transmission oil and filters change Last edited by Exellion; 02-16-2022 at 06:51 PM.. |

I am not at all familiar with Ukrainian law re: defective vehicles, but documentation early, often, and repeatedly is extremely important in the US. |

I have bought an used M2 pre Lci (N55 engine), and today I met this issue below (on video). I hit the R gear but my car didn't move at all, the light on knobb shift was on as in video below. Do anyone have this experience? Thank you

Did you press the throttle? DCT doesn’t move until you press the throttle. It’s effectively in neutral till you do unlike a traditional auto

Sounds like an important error code. I would start there. Run some ISTA test plans for it. For the others, I would recommend reading codes first, instead of a video that may not help with anything, or be the same as the original user's problem.

My guess is that the clutch that controls reverse and gear 1 might be shot. Could be a clutch pressure line fault or even a mechatronics issue. If you're lucky, just could be a reflash? Either way, this thing needs to go to BMW and get sorted out ASAP.
If it's not under warranty, maybe try reflashing the TCU? I'm also talking out of my a$$ |
