Back in August I purchased a 2020 M2C Hockenheim Silver, DCT, Executive package, Bi-color, blue accents.

My last two DD’s were diesels, a 2009 335d and 2014 328dx. The 335d was chipped to ~300hp/525ft-lbs@1200rpms and still got 36mpg: loved driving that huge swell of torque. The 328dx started to get into the 40’s once it broke in, getting 550 miles per tank of fuel was normal. Like filling up every 12-13 days. And with the d’s I could just step on it from a stop and get those mileage numbers.

I didn’t quite think out the mileage when grabbing the M2C. I’m getting about 22mpg so far. Driving more conservatively I saw 26mpg for an hour drive. I noticed the fuel gauge is segmented into sixth’s, which seems to equate to 6 drives/trips for me. I guess I saved enough fuel with the d’s to not worry about the mileage now with the M2C, just seems like I’m at a gas station every 4 or 5 days.

Wonderful beast!

Regarding fuel consumption, it's a combination of poor fuel economy and small gas tank.

I get 100-125 miles per tank with typical daily driving.

Well, I never run to empty, so probably about 125-145 miles per tank.

The price we pay to play

My mpg is going down . I never clear even 17 now. I wouldn't care if the beast even gave 10 mpg, besides the frequent fillups. The beast is worth every gallon it gulps down.

It does not. M2C has idrive 6. Idrive 7 is required for Apple Car Key.

While it's a cool feature, you won't miss it. You'll be too busy grinning from ear-to-ear while you're driving

Wait. Dammit is this true? I'm very into stupid techy things like this and was actually really looking forward to not having to have my key on me all the time if I don't want : (

Here's my update too. As of today I'm at 7 months and 2 days waiting. Order / deposit placed 16 Feb.

I know it's in my city and is off the boat 10 days ago, so it's hopefully at the dealer by now (but may also still be at dock with heavy COVID restrictions in southern AUS).

Still waiting for a delivery call 🤪. I still think you will get yours before me AUSf22

So, kind of an odd part of my journey to share.

As recently reported, owning two 'visceral' driving experiences did not equate to twice the fun for me. I simply did not enjoy owning the 718 CGTS and M2C simultaneously.

Not to rehash all of it - and despite being an admitted Porsche fanboy - I simply wanted to keep the M2C. So, I tested the market for the 718 CGTS. The market is ripe and I got full asking offer within 24h. Transaction took about one week to complete. . . Sold and sitting in my garage awaiting transport truck to pick up on Monday.

I'll definitely find my way back into the Porsche lineup again. WHEN that occurs will depend upon whether the G87 M2C lives up my expectations . . . which I have impression it will.

In the interim I'm going to 'play' with the M2C. I'm going give the beast a little better posture and growl on Monday . . . scheduled at local Bimmer dealership for MP coilovers and MP exhaust.

Does not need, and I did not even want the MP exhaust, but JC likes spending my money and he forced me to get it.

So, come Wednesday I will be about $12K further into the M2C experience . . . thank you JC!

I'll report back once the beast is fully charmed.

I had a perfectly good 718 CGTS and you fuckers drew me into getting an M2C I didn't need . . .

Now I'm a Porsche fanboy selling his GTS so I can more thoroughly enjoy my M2C.

Still not enough for you guys, as JCZ5 keeps having me buy more shit I don't need!

At any rate, it's fun and, as with all of you, I enjoy sharing the enthusiasm with the forum
