CS Hood Install

Check out this install on a sunset orange M2 Comp of the TRE pre-preg carbon fibre hood. This customer opted for painting the carbon hood top side and partially painting the underside.

The carbon hood weights approx 50% less than the original at just 8kg.

We have stock in pre-preg carbon fibre and Aluminium.

What do we think?

Do you know the extent to which different hardware is need to fit the CS hood to a typical 2017 M2? Are the hinges or any of the latch mechanism different?

Have one going on a grey wrapped car (looks similar to mineral). Agree, should look good.

Latch and hinges are carried over. Hydraulic arm is either removed or changed to the same ones used on the genuine CS. For the extra £150, recommend the latter so the good behaves the same.

These hoods fit remarkably well out of the box for aftermarket.

Same question. Located in Michigan. Zip code 48154. Painted in LBB. Any chance you can mask off the power dome for exposed carbon in that section only?

Cool, so you'll shop tax-free with us then import duties on arrival.

We're going to be doing this with our shop car though, leaving the dome exposed!

You'll be looking at roughly £2,460 painted (excluding shipping & duties). Est. shipping cost is around £600 at the moment.

Reminder, the genuine hood is around £4,000 excluding paint.

Thanks! Nice deal! Looking forward to seeing your shop car with the exposed carbon.

Hi Jack, the aluminium hood is actually what I have been looking for. Do you have any pics of how well that one fits?

The vent would be nice for people who track their cars. I'm not sure if it would make a big difference or any difference at all but I'd imagine it would help.

Would you recommend running using this hood with an open box intake? Or one without a box/cover at all?

For example, the burger motorsports intake. Could water getting through the vent affect the intake? (car wash or during rain)

Yup have a tonne of photos. Obviously you can adjust the hood to fit your vehicle when it arrives. But overall, fit is very good 👌🏼
