Advice on M2C

I'm located in Sagamore Beach, Ma. Presently own a 2019 440xi coupe F32. Only mod is the MSPPK exhaust. 9500 miles. Metallic gray. I'm soon to be 75. I've had performance cars my entire life. Corvettes, Camaro, Mustangs, etc. I'm seriously considering buying a new M2C 6MT. I'm in reasonably good health. I'm well aware traffic sucks, especially here adjacent to the Cape Cod Canal bridges.Yet, I really miss having a 6sp and I love the M2C. Also, would the rougher ride be a concern. I know these are all judgement calls, but any advice would be appreciated. Don't be diplomatic with your comments. I'm a big boy and can handle criticism. I only ask that you be honest and sincere. Thanks for your time.

The 6spd manual in these cars is very easy to operate (soft), and I found the suspension to be fine. Like you, I grew up with performance cars so I am used to a tight suspension so I guess it is all relative.

concur with Foggins regarding the ride and the 6MT. the ride in particular was worrisome for me mainly because of my wife riding as my primary, regular shotgun. we've driven a variety of roads about 950 miles now and she hasnt once complained about the ride.

if you've been in performance cars your whole life, then this car will likely seem fairly compliant in comparison. so go for it!

The suspension harshness is subjective but I feel that's a non-issue in your neck of the woods. I drove the M2 through Bourne on my way to Dennis Port a couple of weekends ago and your roads are as smooth as glass!

I would say pull the trigger on a new manual M2 Competition and get one with a moon roof.

The roads around the South Shore are pretty good. If I lived in a State like Rhode Island I would have hesitations as their roads are terrible. Have owned my M2 for 4 years now, and never get tired of driving it. Love driving this 6 speed. I average 8,500 miles a year and am retired. Also Track my M2 8-10 times a year. Will be leaving soon, and looking very much forward to driving 8 hours for a two day event at Watkins Glenn.

I'm 67 and love the suspension on this car. Hope this helps.

I'm 74 and love my M2 Comp, the suspension is what you would expect from a performance BMW. It is by no means harsh, I would say it's tight and very stable in every condition. I have the DCT and really like the performance and convenience but could have lived with a 6spd if that was what was available.

Go for it!!!

I have an M2C and used to have the M2 OG, both 6sp. I have enjoyed both of them and don't regret the 6sp. I run the M2C in MDM mode most of the time except with my wife in the car. I am in Maine so the roads can be marginal at times but with the roads are clear of snow and extreme cold this is my daily and has been for over 5 years. The M2 Comp has the adaptive suspension if that is an option. I have never driven one but if you want a smoother drive that might be a plus albeit at a higher cost.

I tell my grandkids its Pops race car and that's what they call it.
