Stage 2+ E30/racegas 100-200kph, 1/4 mile, dyno etc results thread
Thought I'd start a new thread for people to post their results from running the new stage 2+ maps. Keep the BS out of this thread that ruined the original one.
I'll start by posting my improved 100-200kph times on stock turbo, conditions are very close which is nice for comparison sake. On a side note my car on the regular racegas/e30 map ran 8.7 last winter so I'm looking forward to seeing how much quicker I'll go on the 2+ map once winter arrives. Look forward to seeing peoples results! |

Finally made it back to the dyno to test the Stg 2+ OTS map, gotta say I’m pretty happy!
The curves are Stg 2+ E30, Stg 2 E30, Stg 2 93, Stock. Love those numbers! Here's the Stg 2+ E30 log: https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fb6...729b1290979d7b Last edited by ZM2; 11-22-2020 at 12:56 PM.. |

The power curve shows how it feels on the road for me. On my 100-200 testing reving to redline on stock turbo does net slightly slower times. Hopefully these dyno numbers help the doubters out there 😎 |

That's called the little Dinan turbo loving it to 5500rpm and then choking. If you want to keep that curve going up, you’ll need a bigger turbo. But, shift at 6k, and she’s a freight train.

I have many runs on this particular dyno and a couple other Dynojet's close by and this one reads 7-9whp lower than the others, which gets these Stg 2 E30/93 numbers up to more of what's expected and would be a further boost to these Stg 2+ E30 numbers, but the delta is what we care about. As I said in the other thread, my stock HPFP couldn't max out the Stg 2 E30 map, and from other curves I have I'm showing >50whp gain over Stg 2 E30 with the OE HPFP vs Stg 2+ E30 and an aftermarket HPFP that's not a bottleneck. My turbo (and stock turbos) can't flow enough to keep 6k-7k happy, but I love that this is an OTS map that essentially maxes out our setups and allows someone to bolt on a PS2 or other larger turbo to then get another huge bump in power! And, who doesn't love 500wft-lbs around town?! The car is an absolute tire shredder and a blast to drive. Mostly I’m just happy that all the logging and dyno time & effort I spent this summer with Halim has paid off in a big way and anyone with the right hardware can use and upgrade to this OTS to keep pushing their N55. This result is beyond impressive. I'm really happy to see you and the BM3 tuning for the N55 E30 getting where it is today. Honestly, it's been many years I've not seen anything this meaningful and valueable (to nearly all stock & STG1 turbo) with the N55. Also, my deep respect! The numbers we're seeing here is not possible without your persistency and patience. The way you digged into issues and fed useful data back in the past 2 years, I knew you will get somewhere at some point. I've not been actively engaged in N55 tuning since early 2019. After nearly 10 years, we're still seeing this kind of big improvement with the forgotten N55, without touching the turbine (sacrifacing spool-up). It's been a blessing not only to you, but to the whole M2 N55 community. You deserves a big thank you from all of us! Sean

Had a look over your dyno log and your timing is no where near as clean as it normally is? Probably explains the choppiness on your dyno graph around 6000rpm +. I’ve flashed back to 93 and the car feels slow, missing that massive torque. Temps are near zero now, just need the weather to dry up so I can get some new dragy times! Thanks again for all the effort, I don’t think people realise how much time and money it can cost to help develop these maps which essentially become free for everyone. |

Extremely impressive stuff! I have no idea what I would do with 500ft-lb of torque and 255 rear tires.
Have you considered a Turbo Inlet and/or DV? You’re literally beyond the limit of the DV and the inlet would likely net ypu large top end gains based on the turbo and boost levels you’re running. Pure awesome sauce. |

Huge appreciation for Zack! He really did a lot of real experiment with Halim and a custom tuner that we had same unpleasant experience/result. In the end of dat, Zack has been so super open mind to share the mod and giving the great information in this forum over this year. I'm going to upgrade HFPF and run STG2+ soon, I'm super excited to see the good great like Zack and Daleb shared. Great job both!

SeanWRT Thanks for the credit! Altho, I can't take it all.
I've learned from you and other guys here over the years, had an inkling that this could be a successful path, and Halim@HCP was the brains to pull together a map that gives us all a good bump on the stock/Stg 1 turbo and a huge bump with a larger turbo that can flow more. And it's all from a single OTS map that's free to all BM3 N55 users! That's pretty incredible. Daleb also helped test this (and previous) OTS maps, so he deserves some credit, too. My timing isn't as clean as it usually is--maybe it's bc I backed down from E47 to E40 for the dyno bc I'm still traumatized from when I had my stock HPFP and over compensated for dyno day or maybe that's all we're going to see from a Stg 1 turbo. I did notice a small knock in the log at the beginning of the pull, so maybe I just need a bit more ethanol to smooth out up top. Either way, this closes a successful chapter for me, working to get more power out of my N55. And, what I'm most excited about is to get this on track next summer! We all know how resilient ethanol is with the high IATs we all battle in our air-to-air cooled N55's, and this should be the answer to keeping power levels high in all conditions. The guys on track aren't going to know what hit them. Thanks to everyone that helped! Last edited by ZM2; 11-22-2020 at 01:03 PM.. |

Altho, roasting my rear 285s in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears has turned into a new hobby (and car control exercise) for me around town when no one's around. I do have the latest version of the Pure turbo inlet and the Turbosmart BOV, so I think we’re just seeing the max the Dinan turbo will do at higher RPMs. It’s teaching me to shift earlier, but the huge additional shove I get when I do is absolutely worth grabbing a gear at 6k! Hello, can be a silly question but this Stg 2+ map can be run with race fuel for the ones that ethanol are more hard to find, assuming that HPFP upgrade is all ready done? |

I'd like to know the best mix ratio on the STG2+ OTS map if I have the real E85 station? I know you have been mixing 50/50, it would be 6.5 gal per every fuel up right? It's considering the fuel left less than 10 miles. It's going to be my 1st time to mix E85, I don't want to mess up the stuff. Any tips would be appreciated ! Thanks, |
