I would definitely say manual transmission will be standard equipment, like the current M2.
We don't have any VINs for M4 CS test mules that I can find, but I would bet the pre-production cars have 2MK listed as an option versus standard equipment.

Rumor has it that (also) the next gen Cayman GT4 will be presented in 2018: see here.

Im going to venture a guess based on the builds that Artemis has uncovered. Car to debut in Detroit at the January 2018 NAIAS.
Either silver or orange will be the show color.

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and the 'M2 Competition' launch color "Hockenheim Silber Metallic" (paint code C33).

Any videos? Flat 6 exhaust note? Turbos? You should be able to easily hear turbo spool.

The article indicates that Porsche intends to keep GT cars Naturally aspirated for one more generation.

Is there a corresponding list for European market cars? Curious to see the differences if any.

Should that list exist, at least it didn't surface yet.

IMHO it makes sense to assume that, alike the base M2, the 2U71 (EUR - LHD), 2U72 (EUR RHD) and 2U73 (USA) specs are almost identical.

You can get an idea if you take a look at the M240i presentation earlier this year. That car was presented in Sunset Orange:

Thanks. I've seen those videos. It would be nice to see a sunset orange M2 with the M parts on it.

Agree. I'm hoping the M2 in SO will be better than the M240i. Really don't feel it.

It's one of those colors that needs the right light and is nearly impossible for a photo/video to capture correctly. Wife's 330i wagon is SO and it is stunning. Think heavily metallic (sparkles even in the shade), candied bronze, and you are in the right place.

I want to see HS. That's the new color.

Useless to place your bets. We all know that it's Hockenheim Silber Metallic FTW.

I'm a huge fan of orange, but sunset - I'm not sold on the M2 yet.

Now rumored not "just" with a flat 6, but with the flat six from the gt3, which would mean a huge redline approaching 9k. Where do they price such a car? Can't be gt3 money, but if they price it like a gt4, they'll sell them fast as they can make them.

The Exhaust placement on the mules seem to suggest that it might be a turbo after all.

It would be one hell of a car if they can fit a detuned 4.0 from the GT3 and price it around the 90K mark which is where one would expect it to be priced. That is also probably where the CSL/GTS would be priced making it a very tough buying decision when the time comes.

Or not... I don't see any M2 variant keeping up with an openly available NA GT4 at the same price.
