F82 M4 GST manual seats in to OG M2 advise

Just picked these gorgeous F82 manual
GTS seat and looking to install in my OG M2.

Anyone with any experience replacing electrical with manual seats? I noticed there are no provision/bracket for a seat module on these GTS manual seats, driver side only has two connector and passenger side has 3.

Do I still need to figure out a way to transfer over the OG seat module for the airbag function to jive with vehicle?I suspect some of the electrical seat functions will need to be coded out, my main concern is the retain full function of the seat airbag.

I 'think' - provided the module from the original seat is connected to the car - the car won't care what the seat does or doesn't have? Hence, the airbag will work, and the car won't throw error codes.

But, I went from less electrical to more electrical seats when I fitted the M2C seats in an LCI and everything appears to work - even though it didn't feature on the original seats. The illuminated badges however...

Makes sense . The only thing electric on the seats are the bolsters and I’m not sure if the badge illuminates . Going to install them this weekend and see how it goes.

They are lighter but not significantly so

Using my home/uncalibrated body scale:

Sport seat. : 56.5 lbs
Manual M4 GTS seat : 49.0 lbs

In terms of feel, was it worth it? Let us know after you spend some quality seat time!

My car came with manually adjustable seats & I always wanted to make the switch to those seats as well!

Transformative!
Ergonomically not as comfortable as a Sport seats but not far off, they hug you tight like a long distance grandma , Marino leather feels great and not slippery as the dakota leather ( maybe the alcantara bolsters helps with this). Quick Instant manual seat position adjustment is a godsend. Most importantly though… Seats look sexy as hell in the M2

Awesome!! Bravo on the move. It's a very underrated mod imo. The M4 comp seats are more comfy to me than our OG M2 seats. I was pleasantly surprised after I had some seat time in them. Plus the alcantara matches with the rest of the bits in the car so you can't go wrong there.

Congrats!

How are the seats holding up?

I have the same seats (but electric) on the F87 CS, but I am too tall (2.0m/6'6"), would really appreciate 1 inch lower. Are these seats lower than the electric ones?

Yes, they are. Circa an inch or a bit less.
