Dinan Low Pressure Fuel Pump pickup fix
So I have this: DINANA F-SERIES FUEL PUMP UPGRADE KIT - 2012-2018 BMW 228I/328I/335I/428I/435I/M2/M235I located here: https://www.dinancars.com/products/e...arts/R420-0001
And this last weekend I wasted a trip and 2.5 of 3 days because of an issue with the Dinan part. It had been great and allowed me to run at near empty without fuel slosh preventing fuel pickup. The problem (after hundreds of dollars of diagnosis) was the line on the Dinan kit go so soft and mushy that they burst. This prevented me from going over 5k RPM with full throttle and caused me to waste valuable and expensive track time. My question: Has anyone else had a similar experience? If not and you have this upgrade, keep aware of apparent fuel cut at high RPMs being a possible leak in the supplied lines. I have reached out to Dinan to see what they have to say and will report back. The upgrade really works and I love it, but the normal 91-93 octane fuel ate through my lines in 2 years and 6,000 miles. The good news: got my personal best in the half-day the car worked. Best lap starts around 20:22. |

About to invest in this after the maddening “drivetrain malfunction” during more and more laps, but don’t want something with simple parts that fail in 2 years. Anyone else have the DINAN upgraded LPFP mentioned for longer than a year without problems? $389 seems a hefty price for hoses that don’t last. Let alone $1,000 for the modified pump…
