I thought of Pirelli Trofeo R but it looks like they are not available in OEM size.


Is there any other tire gripper than Cup2s in OEM size?

Goodyear F1 Supercar 3R but supposedly they wear quickly...search on-line for users reviews. Also there is a review on the TireRack site in that link from an M2 owner if you scroll down the page.

In "TW 200", lol, specials the Falken RT600 and the Yokohama A052 will do the job vs Cup2. The A052 will require going one size up (255/275).

For TW200 (SCCA street tire class, other orgs that require TW>=200) competition GRM just tested the non-R version of the Goodyear Supercar 3 (i.e. the TW200 version) versus the RE-71R (discontinued) and the Cup2 Connect 240 using a McLaren 720S.

In the EU you may be getting the Bridgestone RE-71RS (TW200) successor to the RE-71R; here in the States Bridgestone has chosen not to market that tire here, so they're now out of the TW200 competition market for the first time in many years.

I'm sure they would given that the non-R version matches Cup2 times in that GRM test.

I ran the stock cup 2s this weekend on the cs and
They were good but I’m looking for something wirh a little more grip as well. Probably going to go up two sizes when some wheels become available

Difference won’t be much as Cup 2 in the dry is quite good, unless you go wider

I am guessing a bit of understeer here and there, plenty of oversteer on corner exit? Try 265/285 30 19 Cup 2 (Cup 2 Connect doesn’t have 285/30, only 295/30) on stock rims first

In Europe there are not as many extreme performance tyre choice as in other parts of the world

Another alternative is as CSBM5 mentioned...Yokohama Advan A052, it is gripper than Cup 2 and is available in the EU. 255/275 35 19 on stock rims is a good start

Trofeo R's come in 265/30 & 295/30/19 & they quote fitment on 9 & 10inch rims, I'm thinking of these to replace my worn RE71RS track set

What will ensure better lap times?


Advan 052 @ 255+275/35/19

or

Cup2s @ 265+285/30/19

Both will...A052 mostly from the superior compound, Cup2 (265/285) all from the extra width

Keep in mind that tyre compound is temperature dependent and will start to degrade after certain heat cycles where as tyre width will remain mostly the same through out its tread life and wider tyre is more resistant to temperature build up

Therefore in some circumstances, the A052 255/275 will be faster, in others it's either a draw or the Cup2 265/285 will be faster. If they are of the same size then obviously the A052 is superior

Yes the supercar 3R are faster than cup2

You best option for a 245-265 setup are

The idea is to move to 255+275 Advan A052 as the better option as I believe it will bring better grip.

I would even go for 265/30/10 + 295/30/19 to have even more grip but the 265/30/19 will most likely rub on the front if using OEM rims with no spacers.

The 255/275 a052 is a killer super sticky setup. From review they wear fast but i would give them a try too without hesitation

I’ve ordered 3 sets of those.
They are delivered next week. Will report once tested.
