A good old fashion drag race always gets my attention. The CS had a wheel hop problem on launch. It could be that the Cup2 tires weren't hot enough. Hopefully it's not a "feature" of the new adaptive suspension. The stock horsepower handicapped stock M2C held it's own. |

Good to see the stock M2C did so well
The tuned M2C doesn’t have 530hp...it should reel in the 911 at the top end if it had 530ps...more like 480-490hp |

Well that was a poorly executed drag race. Waving a flag is not a sharp enough start signal, as shown by the wild flag prediction launches.
Then we come into lanes. Looks like the middle lane was a dust track. Then tyres.... Predictably the most powerful car won, and despite a jumped start and dust track the CS had enough in it to take second if you even out the BS |

It will be a using the common UK dyno estimated engine power, not wheel power. Stage 1 tuned S55 are commonly around the 520-530 engine power mark.

FYI...From a roll of 40mph to 135mph a 991 GT3 vs a 540bhp M2C is neck a neck. |

Lol... well if that wasn't the weirdest race ever... the slowest car almost won.
Never ever do launch races with RWD cars like this (these are not drag cars)... do a 40 MPH roll instead to take out the driver and launch out of the equation. 1) That 530 HP or whatever m2 either did not have 530 hp at all or that power makes it worthless of a start. 2) the stock M2 beat the CS? 3) the stock M2 almost beat the 530 hp car? Not sure what to make of this race at all. |

My tuned F80 can be very unpredictable on the street depending on the surface. Also, I try to avoid it because people think you're an idiot for racing and I don't want to go to jail. That said, I'm pretty sure my BM3 F80 would walk my CS from a roll as well. CS owners didn't buy the car for drag racing, but it has posted some pretty respectable times and trap speeds. |

On both attempts, other than at launch, on second gear there's smoke bellowing out from the tyres, or maybe even dust which gathers at the centre of the tarmac where it's least often used. CUP2 is one of the gripiest tyres Micheline produce. Early prepping the car and tyres, plus having the right driver behind the wheels makes all the difference at the finish-line. What was more intriguing was how close the 911 and modded M2C race was! I'd love to see them on a mountainous road having it out (preferably with areal view of them to see the road handling with tight bends on a long winding road).

But jeez man, see enough of these and they really make you realize why professional, prepped drag strips exist with timing lights and stuff. |

Drag races are never fully scientific or 100% on equal terms...it is what it is on that day and if the CS was in front I am sure we would have a difference response from some. I recommend taking your car to a local drag race event (SMSP for one) and do a few runs and then perhaps you won't complaint about the video...better yet make your own video on how it's supposed to be done

The tuned (Le Mans blue or San Marino blue?) M2C almost takes out the CS at the 2:13 mark. That wasn't a veer it was a save.
