On a Stock ECU, what modifications are you running on your modified N55 M2

What is to much on a stock ECU

Thoughts are appreciated

Nothing is too much! I went FBO, but skipped the tune and she definitely drives better than stock. I know I'm not be getting the most out of my mods, but my goal is longevity. Not many other cars out there that make me smile every time I start her up. So I'm going to take this one to my grave if I can.
Plus I'm finding that as I get older, I am getting more and more lazy when it comes to data logging and monitoring logs every time I change gas stations, or finding an e85 station to hit that e30 mix.

Performance mods include:
300 cell HJS downpipe
MST turbo inlet v2
Turbosmart plumb back
Wagner Evo 1
ER charge pipe
AFE Pro Dry drop in filter

I have the same mods minus the cat
Is that cat the one from Germany that fabspeed sells?

Have you done any logging with the mods you have to make sure your not to Rich or to lean?

Thanks

This isn’t a ‘93 RX-7 with 1993 engine management tech and a manual boost controller added.

If you’re running the factory tune, logging isn’t needed. You’re… running the factory tune.

Yup, it's the Germany cat that I bought from Fabspeed.
Haven't data logged yet, since I'm still on stock tune. I feel like I should for peace of mind, but haven't gotten around to it.

You ain’t my bro palooka

Get BM3, leave the tune stock and pull logs, or wake up and learn a thing or two about how the engine management in these cars works.

Let me know how your log looks with stock tune. That downpipe could have really leaned you out and your engine is likely about to throw a rod. Better hurry.

I'm "stage 0" MHD. For CEL purposes. Vrsf Downpipe and chargepipe currently. Installing vrsf intercooler next week. Will eventually flash stage 2 or 2+ MHD but haven't yet.

Yeah M2source also runs MHD for logging

I believe he's also on a stock tune

Any data logs would be interesting for sure

Running a catless DP and Wagner Evo 2 on track. Despite other posts, I notice a significant increase in top end without the cat and my GPS speeds show a similar story. I just ignore the CEL.

Doesn't appear to run lean but I don't feel the need to check. Never once misfired on track

Ha! I assume the stock tune won't let me get too funky due to a missing cat.

I know a friend on one of the Facebook groups also does this in his endurance race prepped OG with no issues

I am buying a sport-cat so some restriction vs your setup

Your car has to sound absolutely sweet

I'm an idiot and also did a back seat delete. I won't lie, it's awesome sounding 90% of the time.

That said, the drone is far from "comfy" lol

Quite glad I’ve seen other people running without a map/tune.
I’ve got fitted:
Wagner evo1
Fabspeed Sports cat
Evolution Race Works Black Alumimium Hard Piping (hot and cold side + turbo pipe).
Pure Turbos Inlet Pipe
ITG Panel Air Filter

I’ve never data logged as such quite interested in it and possible getting BM3. It’s def not as a big in the uk as it is in the US.

I ran w/ 12 BMW's this weekend on a BMWCCA tour near Seattle and my car ran extremely well amongst 5 other ///m cars

I can't imagine my M2 with a proper sport-cat fitted vs the current stock cat

Check out "Ecutek" they're one of the best for tuning

As a side note, be careful with the foam filter. They need replacing often or they start to lose filtration ability while slowly being sucked into the engine

I’ve been looking at a ‘induction kit’ but have not found 1. Sensibly priced 2. One I believe will benefit. (I’ve read the thread someone posted on here which was good information)

So maybe I’ll make more effort and get one.
In the mean time I’ll get a new pannel filter better safe than sorry.
Got a few trackdays coming up including Nurburgring so want no hiccups

Ah man. I'd love to get out on the ring!

I'd recommend either the OEM filter or the AEM dry-flow as it seems to also work very well.

A good buddy of mine was a filtration engineer. He always stands by OEM

Did you mean AFE?

Great filter IMO
