Big thanks to Doughboy and akkando. Got my M Performance carbon steering wheel trim fitted today. It took 20 minutes as advised but would have been impossible without their help. It’s not remotely intuitive that you have to push a screwdriver into a hole behind the wheel boss to release the airbag. I’m not going to post a photo as it looks just the same Doughboy’s, i.e. fab.

I disconnected the battery negative first as suggested and it didn’t trigger a tracker alert. Not sure whether to be pleased or concerned! It’s the BMW recommended Trackstar Cat 6 BTW.

Nice work

Glad you're pleased with the mod.

Re battery disconnect. You only ever need to disconnect the negative. Don't touch the positive, its completely safe once the neg is removed.

Have u drove it yet? Interested to know how it is.
Car is ridiculous, if the stock M2c already felt like it had too much torque this is ridiculous. I'd say it's not enjoyable. You can get yourself in a lot of trouble. 2800-4k car feels like it has full boost hauls ass!!!!!. After that range the car feels like it's a large turbo spooling up but never hits peak. Note I have stock tires and it's 30 degrees out. Maybe with higher temps the car will perform better but ehhh

I came from a 6262 135 for reference FYI.
Did u do down pipe, intake, any other bolt ons?

U should throw some r888r on it when the stocks are done.
Eventuri intake, waiting to install downpipes.
How much was the intake?
The intake is about 2200$

Which map? I would go for a CS tune I think because supposedly still pretty linear and drivable. I'll let you know if I ever swap the m2 for m2c...

Stage 1/2 and full screen are on my list. Looks like we're pretty local to each other (Stamford CT) maybe we'll run into each other 👍

... I've got the alcantara sun visors waiting for me to fit them tomorrow hopefully.

How do they look / feel on the car?

Not as premium as I hoped they would be.

You can clearly see where the glue was applied, the alcantara is not equally tight around all sections etc. I believe they claim it's made by hand and it shows.
To be fair however, the edges are glued on the upper ridge, which you never see and in my opinion, it's still miles ahead of the hard, plasticy regular sunvisors + no more warning labels so I'm happy enough.

The actual swap was very easy to do (if you have the right torx screwdriver at least).
Installed them in the driveway in the dark, so no picture. I'll try to do think about it tomorrow.

Yeah i saw that tape seam on top. But coming from factory alcantara visors on my M6, you don't look at them in detail as they're all black/black you feel them when you touch them.

And as i have visors down all the time, then no airbag warning was a major plus for me.
